Its 9mm. Looks like a warranty trip to S&W!

i have the same gun but im close to 5k rounds with 0 malfunctions

 

lucky though that S&W has one of the best customer services out there that gun will get replaced

Yeah it will be replaced, but, after something like this would you ever be comfortable carrying it again?

If any gun is fed a really bad reload this can be the result.

 

 

The barrel separated at the transition from the barrel hood to the barrel shaft. This was caused when reaming the chamber making the juncture area too thin so the thin spot gave way when an high pressure round gave it enough pressure.What disturbs me the most if that the frame cracked at the trigger axis pin all the way through.That means the trigger axis pin must be floating in some weak material instead of a beefy steel block.
