The initial inspiration.

I've always liked the look and grip of this, a 2005 Angel Speed (45 style instead of my preferred 90*). Since I wanted my gun to be unique and personal, the original plan was a black custom made aluminum folding stock with adjustable riser, and a custom grip that would take these panels. These grips are hard to come by and the plan has changed a bit since 2008... I found cheap Gat grips, but could never get my hands on the 90* OEM grips without buying a whole 2005 Speed.

Haha, when I saw that S12 I thought it looked like it had an Angel grip frame. Didn't think anyone would know what I was talking about so I didn't say anything.

I made mine from a solid piece of 3/4" plate. The angle is my own... between the 90 and the 45 frame.

To me, a very short length of pull is comfortable and desirable for practical reasons. if the action is closer to your shoulder, the natural orientation of your wrist changes. Angel got it right when they designed their guns around a massive tank, then Automags came with the Z and Y grips to match other shouldering positions. With firearms, recoil management dictates a certain amount of your posture too. I have found that I like very vertical grips on several guns, including a S&W target .22 I own, so since I was personalizing my gun, why not choos an angle most comfortable to me.

I wanted it to be comfortable whether shouldtered or held riot gun style, so completely vertical wouldn't work. As it is now, angel grips won't work because of the angles and contours.

i've always liked paint marker ergonomics too, seems light years ahead of firearms sometimes but then I remember that the older guns were made of wood and easily customized to suit your individual needs (not that anyone ever did, on occassion though, you'll find that a soldier changed the grip feel slightly) but yah weight + recoil changes what feels good sometimes. Still, paint ball is the entire reason that i like foregrips.

Almost forgot to mention..

Good Job, looks comfortable. :)
