556v545

For 5.56 mm M193 bullet cartridge with a full soft lead core at short firing ranges (about 10 m), which is high enough to speed characteristic extreme strain - fragmentation. In this case, the destruction of an explosive with the formation of numerous small and large fragments, making its additional wound channels (Fig. 2).

At all firing ranges on the simulators biological tissues for 5.56-mm bullets cartridge M855 high breakdown characteristic of the different degrees of deformation up to the complete flattening, but unlike a bullet cartridge Ml93 without division into separate bullet fragments.

5.45mm bullet cartridge domestic 7N6 with a steel core and steel shell is strong enough, despite the "hollow" nose, with the shooting at the simulators soft tissue at all distances lose stability, but not with ethyl fragmented and do not change their shape (Figure . 3).

When passing through the gelatin blocks unstable caliber bullets spend on average 30 to 60% of the initial kinetic energy. Compared to them resistant 7.62mm bullets spent no more than 12-19% of the initial kinetic energy.

Between the energy that the bullet spend to overcome resistance of the medium, and the amount arising in this runway, revealed a linear dependence. This allowed for each of the studied bullets calculate regression equation:

W 5,45 mm (WFP) = 1.2 CPE - 141.2

W 5.56 mm (WFP) = 1, Z CPE - 257.1

W 7.62 mm (WFP) = 0.9 CPE - 105, 1

where W (WFP) - the amount of runway cm3

Wed E - loss of kinetic energy, J
