ShadowFire 220 Posted May 4, 2014 Report I'm guessing Hubbardton is somewhere up north so no I don't think so. Right now one of the things his chapter is focused on is grave markings. There are a LOT of places all around here that our forefathers have as their final resting place. In truth, they are everywhere, in a way our founding fathers are still among us philosophically speaking. There graves usually go without notice by most people but they're all around. Due to land grants around here they're in some pretty isolated places in most cases but up north that might not be the case. The SAR will do a grave marking if they are asked, to honor them, you only need to contact the local chapter. However some chapters sadly may not be interested, but that doesn't mean another chapter won't or can't do it.Last one was a big event, the ancestors of his got together and threw a big party for the grave marking. abnoxio 7 Posted August 29, 2014 Report Can you imagine if those guys could have seen an AR? They'd freak. Quote Link to comment
ShadowFire 220 Posted August 29, 2014 Report I seriously doubt that. They would likely want to be cautious of people they first encountered that would have one. They would also be curious and inquisitive. You have to understand the times. In those times a firearm was part of their way of life. Given that all they have seen look like artistic versions of sticks (American Indians called them "thunder sticks".) and that the AR looks more like something like a raw machine, they'd want to know what it was and want to know all about it. Like us, they'd want to shoot it. lol Also I guarantee you, George Washington would want them, a LOT of them. He bought so many muskets that he could arm everyone at Mt. Vernon, including the slaves in order to defend Mt. Vernon from an attack. Quote Link to comment
