Can I cut the stock tangs off and weld in a blank plate to the rear of the trunnion rendering the stock uninstallable then shorten the barrel down to 8"? Is it, once a long arm. always a long arm according to the serial number? If it is legal, do I have to file paperwork or just hack and go? If I have to file paperwork I'll just go the SBS route with a folder. Either way, I want to cut it down LEGALLY! Thanks for your help.

Stock configuration19" Saiga 12, Krebs Ghost ring sites, Poly-Choke II Vented, 5-APG 10rnd Mags w/ pouch. Gun will group all 10 Federal Value Pack slugs in a Fed-Ex overnight box at ~130 yards (about the size of a medium torso male or a regular computer monitor). About 100-125 rounds through the gun. No problems with it whatsoever. Paid $1100 total, $900 plus shipping.

That's what I was thinking too. If it's just a 922 thing, then it's on an individual basis and mag importation would be o.k. I don't see why someone wouldn't import them. I'm not paying that much for a mag.......especially when I "need" five of them.

We once could get them and now we can't. Why is this? You can import any other AK mag. Where did all the factory 8 rnd mags go?

It's really quite simple. We all start shooting each other !!! You wouldn't shoot an unarmed person...would you?!?!?!?! Of course not !!!! You'd only shoot armed people.....like all of the ones here. Other's will shoot you to get your goods and guns (remeber the scene from "War of the Worlds?). They are a liability and make you a target. Nobody is going after the guy who has nothing. In order for "the meek shall inherit the earth", the bold and forceful must kill each other off first. The key word is inherit, which means someone has to die first. That will be the "unmeek". I'd rather a dented metal mag that I can fix with a flat head screw driver in ten seconds then a cracked plastic mag that is usless, not to mention I've never seen a metal mag broken out of a gun. Load up an AGP mag, shove it in the gun then drop it facing down and see what happens. I can live with rust. It's an AK, it'll eat it.

Seriously though, they'll probably be a ban in effect before anyone can get this off the ground.

Last thing we need is a longer mag. What's next, a 50rnd SS mag !?!?!?!?!?!?!? Gonna look like that stupid 100 rnd AK stick mag. I might............might be interested if it is quality similar to the factory mags. Otherwise why bother?
