  1. Thanks, CObra!! That was the info I was looking for!
  2. In the dumb question area - is the TAPCO Galil handguard everybody seems to be out of the same moulding as the rifle version? Has it been machined out larger for the Saiga 12 or is it a unique piece? THANKS!
  3. I have never had a form rejected because of multiple calibers. I have also added one when sending in a form 4. It was approved.
  4. I have never had problems with Wolf. Have shot thousands of rounds of it in 9mm, .45, 5.56 etc. Remember that American GIs were issued steel cased .45 in WWII...........
  5. I find I am in agreement with EVERY ONE of their ideas, except maybe the position on elderly drivers amd helmet laws. DUI limits are nuts - when no crash is involved .08 is insanity as is .1 or even .15 NFW that is right. DUI law is only a cash cow. Actually, nearly all traffic laws are manioplulated to raise revenue, not enhance safety. Air bags are a creature of the insurance industry. They most certainly are not a life saver. For small women and children they are KILLERS.
  6. I'll bet old Sam Walton is spinning in his grave from what his stupid liberal kids have done to his stores. Their action is backdoor registration. NO ONE should EVER buy a gun from them again, EVER!
  7. Submit them all at once. ONE set of FP cards and ONE "citizenship" form. All forms 4 or forms 1 if YOU are the manufacturer must have CLEO signature and each form must have a picture. Single sided WILL be rejected! Print off and run through a copier, making them double sided. Also gains a waterproof form. Inkjet stuff is NOT waterproof and is unsuitable. Doesn't matter. Nope, that is only for an 01 or 07, not 03 C&R. EXCEPTION is when transferring a MG to an owner in a C&R state like MI used to be.
  8. I think J&G Sales has them for $99.95 ea. for 2 or more. I love mine!
  9. The size of the tap you broke is marked on the shank. A drill chart (or ask here) will verify the correct drill to use. In very hard material, the next larger drill (number drill, NOT fractional!) sometimes solves the problem. Hard material can work with a little less % of thread and tap MUCH easier. Here is an EXCELLENT tool supplier, MSC: http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/nnsrhm Here is one that may be a little cheaper (Enco) IF they have what you want and you are in less of a hurry: http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRHM Both are good suppliers. A worn drill bit will cut a hole that
  10. The illegal problem exists because it is illegal to shoot them on sight as they sneak across the border!! A MINEFIELD and bounties would stop the problem in a few days. Deporting them when found would get rid of those already infesting the US. Finding them is not difficult; ANY contact with government, lawenforcement, utility companies, health care or schools would root them out pretty fast. Mandatory jail time for all executives involved in hiring them would do wonders as well.
  11. I caught that too. I am HIGHLY suspicious of ANY mag that fails to operate reliably at it's stated capacity. Sounds like the WM should be advertised as an 18 rounder. I don't do the short loading thing with any gun I own; either I FIX THE MAG or get rid of it. Any mag that is a PIA to load should be sold WITH A LOADER included, or at least available and suggested. Otherwise, what good is the thing? I can see it now - a LULA loader for a Saiga mag or drum !!!!
  12. Nice. Except that your pic of any M1A is a chinese one. Actually, I own all of them except the Saiga - which is backordered. I would gladly have a USGI M14 rather than the Chinese copy - if my government obeyed the constitution and would sell me one rather than cut them up. My Norinco is all GI except the receiver.
  13. 1. Saiga 12 (of course) 2. Remington 870 3. FAL 4. AK 74 (Built on OOW receiver) 5. AK 47 (Built on DCI receiver, underfolder) 6. M1A (Norinco) 7. AR-15 8. Savage 110
  14. I make my living in the commercial refrigeration field. Silver solder CAN do a good job of joining steel - works great in the machine shop too. Silfos, will NOT work well. Use 45% "Safety Silv" that comes in 1 troy ounce rolls of wire, proper flux is "Stay Silv", both Harris products. Brownells also sells good products for the purpose. Be sure to clean well and use a torch of adequate capacity. Remember if it shows, ya gotta paint it as parkerize won't work on silver. All that being said, TIG is best.
