  1. I have a 5.56x45 and a 7.62x39; I must say that they both have their pros and cons. The 5.56 is a lot more accurate in terms of tight groups and distance. There are also a whole lot of different loads available and manufactures that make this all American caliber. You can find this ammunition practically anywhere here in America. The 7.62x39 is a harder hitting round and it is basically a heavier grain than the 5.56x45. In order to achieve nice groups with the 7.62x39; I would say from personal experience that higher quality ammo always works for me (Brass). The options are not as wide as the
  2. Congrats, on your new rifle. I recently purchased my .223 and I am very impressed with it. I love the trigger action, accuracy, balance and feel of the rifle. The price was right also. I bought the Remington 55 grain FMJ's from Wolly World when I first took out my .223 and the accuracy was pretty good for a $200 rifle. I was able to shoot 2" groups at 50 yards with iron sights, and then my sight adjusting tool finally broke after five years of service! So I will be making another trip soon to get her sighted in at a hundred when I get my new sight adjuster from TAPCO. I am now trying to get my
  3. I would like to acquire a side mount also, but I am trying to figure which one is the best for me. I am looking for a mount that is not too high but not too low so that I can utilize my iron sights if necessary. The positioning of the side mount over the rifle is also very important; it would be nice to find one that is centered over the rifle. I would love to see pictures of mounts on actual rifles so that I can get an idea of what would be a practical and smart purchase decision. I have looked at the older threads and done some browsing online but I still have not found the "magic mount".
  4. This is a great question. I have been debating on buying the modified stock which I think is extremely over priced or just buying the separate pieces from Tapco and doing it my self. I don't care for the way the modified stock looks personally, but I do not want to convert anything on the actual rifle unless it is absolutely necessary. What would you guys recommend from Tapco that would fit on the Saiga .223? I would like to have a classic type stock like this one if possible, but what would I have to do to make it fit? http://www.tapco.com/proddesc.aspx?id=c58e...93-3811a578ed2a The pistol gr
  5. Thanks for all of the info guys!
  6. Hello All, I just purchased a used Saiga .223 a few days ago and I am very pleased with it. I would love to get my hands on the .308 rifle for the best price of course. I have been hunting online and I have noticed that $399-450 is the average price. Is there a store that you know of who sells the .308 for a great price and who also has great service? I appreciate the help!
