  1. my poly furniture (tapco) feels MUCH more sturdy than the original sporter stock. and the k-var is supposed to be even better. The G2 trigger is much lighter than the stock trigger mechanism. oh, and most importantly for me, the ergos are MUCH improved after the conversion. before, i thought it was almost uncomfortable to shoot. now it's great (although I kind of wish I'd gotten the NATO length stock....the warsaw stock is like 1.25" shorter). I'm really glad I did the conversion, and it was very easy to do. Only thing I have left to do is to install my bullet guide, it
  2. to do "mag conversion" you need to get an AK mag, and try to fit it in. then file the mag catch with a hand file bit by bit until it snaps in. if you use a master molder or surefire mag, you wont need a bullet guide. otherwise you will need to get one for AK mags. bullet guide can be found on dinzagarms.com google "saiga conversion" and you can see everything involved oh and cleaning rod. to get it to attach you'll have to use standard ak front handguards (i think). you'll need a handguard retainer (also on dinzag's site). there is a bolt on and a press on availab
  3. i clean mine at least every 500 rounds. most often around 200 rounds, or 2 or 3 trips shooting. my m&p 9mm about the same.
  4. looks good, jbauch! I have the warsaw length stock...while managable I think the extra inch or so on the NATO would be beneficial. I think I will get one of those on my next conversion.
  5. dinzag is good for bulletguide handguard retainer etc. tapco has some of the other stuff (FCG, PG nut and screw, PG) k-var has handguards, buttstock. ironwood if you want wood. Have fun
  6. you could also use foreign mags. 7 foreign parts + 3 when you use foreign mag = 10 foreign parts (still compliant).
  7. i have a promag waffle style. it does not have any feed lip like the stock saiga mag. i havent fired from it, but i released the bolt and it chambered a round. I don't know if it was a fluke, I cant see trusting it at this point. mine is also not marked "saiga" though.
  8. hmm. Kinda wish I'd seen this before I did my conversion.... oh well! I guess now I know for my next one
  9. How well made is the k-var compared to the tapco? I have the tapco, and i really like the length (and I am 6'2"). Just quality-wise, what are the differences? the tapco one feels pretty sturdy. oh, and what are the total measured lengths of the warsaw and nato stocks
  10. I have some 12 guage ammo... but no 12 guage. I would be interested in your front handguards. Remington game loads 2 3/4" length, 2190 fps, 1 oz shot, 6 shot. 1 full box, 25 rounds. Then again, may be not worth it to even ship these to you haha
