Thanks cynical, I hadn't thought of heat, I might give that a shot.

I bought my Saiga from a guy who put one of those plastic front sight posts in. Unfortunately he decided to glue it in somehow. It broke when trying to remove it. Any thoughts on getting the remaining plastic out? I was thinking of using a tread chaser, does anyone know the thread size? Where can I get the part that the sight post screws into (not sure what it is called)? Thanks!
