  1. From the top: ALL KALASHNIKOVS HAVE MAG WOBBLE. YES, I SAID ALL OF THEM. It is the nature of the beast. The "mag wobble" that everybody talks about actually started with the early WASRs upon which the Century beavers took a huge bite out of the mag well when they opened it up. This caused the mag to 'wobble' to such a degree that it literally stopped the rifle from functioning. Ever since, the term "mag wobble" has been misunderstood and perpetrated as "no AK should have mag wobble", which is a load of crap. If your mag wobbles to such and extent that your rifle malfunc
  2. Ok, different twist. Those of us that have slab sided weapons.....and want to reduce mag wobble, Is there a mag well reinforce that we can do? ( Yes, I have some wobble. )
  3. HMM, Perhaps with WJ's experience we need to run him for higher office. Would be nice to have someone like that to vote for. And, Perception is everything. We each want something in our weapon to make it better to us. The only limit is our checkbooks. We don't need to go judgin anyone's opinions, jus share our own.
  4. Thermolds work well with or without the bullet guide, just file the catch to accept them. I have six and hey have been very dependable. However once you install the guide you can stock pile the surplus mags. Jus use the American made ones at the range to be "conformed".
  5. It's missing the can opener and the flip out nail file.
  6. +1 on the Glock 27, I carry a Springfield 40 subcompact and stay very pleased with it. In the real world, the only weapon you hope you never need will will be a small CC handgun. If your are not a LEO, then you will hopefully be exiting any situation, rather than responding to it, Therefore 10 rounds should do. If you expend more all 10, its already been a really bad day. And then there is that word grand juries use, " excessive". Keep in mind, we are no longer on the gold standard, but rather on the "lead" standard. The longer you can hang on to either of the weapons, the M4, or The Saiga, th
  7. The only thing I would add is I often see newbs asking questions that I never thought to ask. Thus extending my knowledge. Things I would never had searched for but have been posted hundreds of times. Jus MHO.
  8. Checked and Local Academy had Monarch for 5.69 a 20 rd box. It's not bad ammo........Bought 4x 500 rd cases of it there for 74.80ea back in Oct. Would like to see that again. My kids go through it fast!
  9. Not sure why. but locally the .223 Saiga is about $100 more than the x39.
  10. I am not SKS literate. Any special model or kwirks I should look for?.......bet there is a good SKS board I can look for.
  11. Looks like a great trip to the range. Awsome pic capturing the afterburn.
  12. Getting more tempted to trade my Bushy for another x39 and a s12.
  13. Ya. But i was looking more for a $250 range China gun or something. Don't know much about SKS. I can still buy x39 Saigas for round $420 so I would go that rout if i cant find something cheep. Wanted a couple of small game guns that chamber x39
  14. Been along since I have posted. But, as usual, I really I am grateful for the advice from this forum. I own an 7.62x39 that I converted and i love it. Have even thought of selling my "Other Black Rifle" to buy a couple more. What is a good bolt action ( somewhat inexpensive) companion that will chamber the 7.62x39 round, as that I stocked up on just a a few. And yes, I know the best companion would be another Saiga. Thanx for your input.
  15. Local Gun store in Waco has 7.62's for 299. all the time.........Bummer that RAA isn't shipping 12's right now. (My local is trying to find out why.)
