  1. You mean meeting your new girlfriends much hotter SINGLE friend, who also happens to think you are just the CUTEST thing EVER... In my younger years, I can say been there. Girlfriend moved in with me at my 2 bedroom place. Short time later her Very Yummy friend moved in to the 2nd room. After awhile, sh*t happens. Girlfriend and I split, best friend stays. I got my second room back.
  2. This ever happen to anyone else? Here I am, been making a deal for a L1A1 on a Imbel receiver for a good steal. Last night I get all the details worked out, It's mine, just gotta hook up with the guy to pick it up. This morning, hop online, check the forums, like always. What pops up at 4am, a Damn beautiful Pre-ban Daewoo K-1 with a 50 round count through it for $1300 shipped!!!! WTF, I can't renege on the FAL ( won't) and the purchase of it drops the funds to were I can't afford the K-1. Why do things like this always happen to me? When it rains it pours and I'm left farting in the bree
  3. With all in my reach here, Saiga's, AK's, PSL's, SKS's. . . . . I must admit , SHTF go to would be my FAL. It's got the range and knock down. I would gladly sacrifice weight for weapon.. Second would be the Woo. Shotgun, plain jane pump, any of them for a back up.
  4. Not even gonna try to figure this one. 7.62x39 - Over 10K alone
  5. Thank for the hop in Nailbomb. I got a giggle about it all. And YES as a Local #30 Union Insulator I made damn sure I ran the VIN #. Union approved, assembled in Calf. by UAW manpower. Knowing New York, I have to wonder were the plates come from.
  6. Trucks a little dirty, F' it. German, Bulgy, Norinco, Polytech, Maadi, N. Korean, Polish, Rommy, Tula, Izh, Yugo, Hung
  7. NICE, I wish mine was as clean. I went with the worn look, not battlefield, just even wear.
  8. OK, went digging around. I found my sales receipt - Sat, 22 Sept 1995 for $265.00 NIB Manual has the Acceptance Certificate in the back Date of manufacture is listed as - 31 May 1995 The pics show all the markings on the 410, there are NO others. No bolt hold open or extra dust cover. Cobra, sending you a PM
  9. And who said being a gun parts pack rat was bad? My son. He split his toe open on a crate of ammo last night. Hey, stay the hell out of the livingroom! I've run out of places to hide them, there's only so many places to stack them into end tables and coffee tables. LOL I do need to have another Crazy Pat Sale, AK parts are getting deep again. It's a little late to start digging now, Nailbomb visit, new ink and work in the AM. I'll get on things tomorrow, after throwing some firewood around. Cobra, I might live in the woods, that don't mean I live in the sticks. I can burn a copy, if
  10. OK you guys are gonna make me dig everything out now. It might be a day or two, I gotta take care of life first. Work, firewood and a new tat come first. Sorry. Edit to add- I'll see if I can find (pretty sure where) an old K-USA sales catalog with all the models of shoties and rifles they carried. Cobra, I need to see if yours was a different model #, now.
  11. Not to hijack the thread, but I got a question. I just looked over all the pics posted of 410's. I guess I never gave it much thought, my Saiga 410 has something none others have. Front of the receiver I have a hand guard screw!! It threads into a nutsert in the wood. The hole was in the receiver, I remember it in the original black plastic one also. Anyone else have one with that?
  12. I'll stick with DuraCoat. If you spend the time and effort to customize, why skimp on the finish? Look at some of the posts. Be it a Saiga conversion or a parts kit build, everyone wants to know what the finish is and how it holds up.
  13. OK Cobra, It's time to re-up your list. I bought mine way, way, way back. When they first hit the market. Importer was Big Bear Arms out of Dallas. 94 date stamp on the trunion, no oval. It came with the manual, cleaning kit, cleaning rod, black leather soft case, and black tab sling. The sling doubles from the rifle to the soft case for carrying ( per manual). I left it on the soft case. I bought the wood stock, lower grip and 10 Rd mags from Kalashnikov USA shortly after. Non-adjustable gas system, and vented screw on chokes. She's been rode hard chasing bunnies. But
  14. I'm one of the guys that has eaten more than my fair share of MRE's. From the old brown bags to the newer sissy hot sauce. But do have a case in the stash. Personally I always liked the LRP's better. One package, one meal, just add water. Smaller, lighter and more calories. Made for one meal a day.
  15. Don't know about the OP's. Mine; Original design is a protection symbol worn by warriors on their chest. Folklore says that the breath of a green dragon can over come all adversity. I combined the two.
  16. So true. The difference is you can't sell your tats if you get boried with them. LOL Nice knot MagicMan. I got one myself, needs touch up now that it's healed up and I got the time to go.
  17. "ALCOHOL ABUSE" ? ? ? ? It was Bud!!!! No abuse at all. Jake your drunk. My Mossy has a factory speed feed on it. ???? Go to bed.
  18. Have'n fun in the sun, shoot'n beer with everyone, What's next in the backyard? All I got was a call, " Pat, grab a shotgun and get over here." Knowing Nailbomb, how do I argue? That was fun, I needed that. The Blues I couldn't shoot, but the Buds died a hard death. Hey, Hey, Hey it was my Mossberg 3000. I don't own a 500.
  19. Well I guess I'm at the other end of things. Min is 12 - 30 Rounder per. Not counting the collectible ones, 20's, 40's and drums.
  20. Drums work, both types. You get the chicken wing going on the reach around. If your thinking about a bayonet on the AKU, the front hand guard covers the GB. I modded one for a bayo then bought another HG to replace it. thought I had a pic with a drum, guess not if you want one I can set one up.
  21. Hardware stores most often have them. Ace or True Value, Lowe's or H D should have them also. Alot of places call them China Markers
  22. All I use is grease pencils. I wipe things down with rubbing alcohol and fill in the markings I want to cover real heavy. Then take a soft rag with just a dot of Break Free on it and wipe over it gentle. The Break Free will remove just the top layer so after a couple minutes you will have buffed the grease pencil down flush with the surrounding metal. It will last for quite along time.
  23. Yeah the crap part of the conversion is that trigger wire/ spring. I replaced mine with a stainless steel tig rod. Had to play with the length of the rod to get a decent trigger pull.
