  1. I figured it was just some good old fashioned C.Y.A. but I just wanted to make sure, I guess they just want it documented on their site so you can't try to point fingers?
  2. Just got this e-mail from the country shed and I was curious as to what is the determining factor to allow the use of a folder on a post 11/90 ak. Here's what the e-mail stated: http://www.thecountryshed.com/ak47_adjustable_stocks.htm Conversion kit may only be utilized on AK's using folding stocks prior to 11/90 or you must have enough compliance parts to be legal as a folder; assembly otherwise may be in violation of Sec. 922®. NOTE: Stock and handguard are Made in USA and count towards compliance parts.
  3. went fantastic! had a single hang up because I didn't realize the new hammer wouldn't work with the BHO lever, but used the old one and all was fine. I decided to go ahead and trim about 1/8" off the end of the BHO lever so it doesn't stick so far down into the trigger guard, and also decided to grind and polish down a portion of the hammer to make the action smoother. range testing this weekend - we'll see how it goes... Looks great! I'll be testing mine saturday also.. can't wait!
  4. Was it getting hung up on the top portion of the hammer when you released the handle? Mine does that too I was going to flatten that curve on top that it's hitting but just wasn't sure if it was hitting in just that one spot or if something else was getting hung up. As for cleaning the shavings out I blasted it with compressed air to get the big stuff out then stripped it all down and sprayed it heavily with wd-40 and used a solvent brush and wiped it all out and cleaned up with a rag then put it all back together.
  5. I couldn't find the right size e-clip 7/32" is just slightly too big and no hitch pins so I used hairpin clips, similar to the hitch pin and they worked like a champ they're thicker and fill in that gap perfectly.
  6. Pictures Taco! Show us your creation. The bullet guide is simple to make particularly with a flat trunnion. I'll try to get some pics up this weekend. Finally got my pic, tapco pistol grip, tapco fcg, tapco gas piston. Will add the bullet guide and muzzle brake soon, right now trying to decide on a different stock.
  7. I just did the conversion on mine, I didn't order the shepards crook so I just stopped at Lowe's and picked up a .50 cent pack of hairpin clips, I tried the E-clips but they didn't sit in there nice and tight and these other clips did. I'd like to use the high cap mags so I will end up doing the bullet guide you guys mentioned, I have a spare piece of aircraft grade aluminum I may end up making one I'm cheap like that!
  8. Is the bullet guide necessary or only if it fails to chamber the rounds correctly?
  9. That's nice man I'm really considering doing that to mine now...
