  1. I'm not sure what's happening. I only surmize that the pressure of the first few rounds is higher against the bottom of the bolt which may be keeping it from cycling completely (I did have a few failures to eject). I think if I went to 1 revolution that might fix the problem but before I do that, I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
  2. Mike, I have two MD20's and have an identical problem with both. I'm using one of your new plugs set on 3, firing low brass mixed rounds (all heavy field loads of 6's or 7 1/2s, mod choke). Seat a fully loaded magazine. Leaning into gun, usually get a ftf on first 5 rounds followed by no ftf's. I've tried both 3 revolutions and 2 revolutions. It appears the bolt is riding over the rim and catching the shell in the magazine halfway down the round. I'm thinking the tension on the first 5 rounds is slowing the bolt down. When the pressure is less (12 or 15 rounds in mag) the bolt is not
  3. If you're retired or active military you can get a new cover by itself for $5.86 in the clothing sales store. Another reason to have a buddy in the military.
  4. I've been politicing for a "true OPEN" shotgun division for some time without much luck. I talked at length with Charles Bond at the Area 6 3 Gun last month and he states he would like to see the change (he has a Saiga 20) but you're right about the others i think. Anyway, we're fixen to go outlaw (IMG) with our 6 matches a year. In fact, we just shot a 2 gun match at a new USPSA club in Flordia and we ran it time plus outlaw. Like the Big 3 - If you don't produce what the customers want - you won't survive for long. See you all at Benning!!!!!
  5. Cobra, I've been looking too. I would like a right. Any chance in getting it before the Ft Benning 3 Gun on 5 Dec?? Send me PM for payment. Thanks, Tom
  6. Quick question: What is the deminsion from bottom of receiver to bottom of magazine?
  7. Some of us (64 years old) don't have much choice about optics. I just put a JP rail sight on my S12 (to shoot in an IDPA 3 gun match) and the front and rear sights are REALLY fuzzy. I normally have an Aimpoint T1 on a pic rail and really like it and since I naturally shoot red dots with both eyes open, it works great for me. I think the big thing is what each individual finds works best for them. I'm a certified instructor and find that each student is different depending on eye dominance, stance, etc. For USPSA I usually shoot a dot on rifle, shotgun and pistol (.38 Super) and have a tac
  8. A couple of days ago I looked up the D.C. law which defines all weapons. Suprisingly it defines a "machine gun" as any firearm capable of firing automatically or semi-automatically if a manual reload is not required after 12 rounds. You would think a Colt .45 (single stack) would not be considered a machinegun under those rules. I think the catch is that the firearm can't be easily modified to a machinegun (i.e. if I put a higher than 11 round magazine in the weapon). I guess that's because you MIGHT have a larger magazine for the Colt, and that would make it a machinegun. I also found ou
  9. I was at the range today to check reliability of low brass stuff. I also got a ftf with federal after some pretty rapid strings and a really bad on with a Fiocchi Heavy 9 Spreader Load (looked like it actually sweged the plastic). The Spreaders ( I have about 6 boxes) all have a pretty poor crimps (six point and deeply recessed) and in fact loose pellets sometimes in the box. The Federals are also pretty "soft" plastic. I have also polished the ramp up, etc. and don't seem to have problems with ftfs with rounds like Rem Nitros.
  10. I like the Tromix handguard but there is just little play radially. Not a problem for me. It's held up to my tests so far with the verticle handgrip. Like the look much better than the original. I have a 19" barrel. With the Polychoke it's 21 1/2" overall. If you weld on the Poly I would imagine it becomes part of the barrel for ATF purposes but if you just screw it on, I'm pretty sure it doesn't. For me it wasn't worth the trouble anyway.
  11. I wanted to update after range visit and mods on magazines. First, I was intrigued by one member's post on putting a pin in APG 10 rd mags. Even with bolt polishing and some relieving, it was difficult to load full 10 rd magizines with the bolt closed. Until I get a good reliable LRBHO device, I will be shooting 9 and changing magazines on a closed bolt. Here are some pictures of my placement of a pin.Basically, it goes smacl dab in the middle of the top small rectangle formed by the reinforcement ribs: As you can see, the 9th round is pushed against the pin (pop rivet) and the rivet

  13. Tony, Just to let you know--I put mine on yesterday. Front 2 holes worked great but when you drill for the rear hole, my stock adapter was too close to the hole to get the screw in. I simply got the MIG welder cranked up and put a couple of spots on the corners and since its hidden by my SAW grip, no problem. Someone whith a Stock Adapter who doesn't want to weld the rear would probably want to relieve the lower front portion to make room for the washer and screw. Thanks for the great product.
