  1. I had the same issue with my CAA grip and tapco grip nut/bushing on my 7.62 conversion. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=26293
  2. Just from comparing the front of the mags(Tapco vs Thermold), I don't think the Tapco's will feed without a bullet guide. The front of the mag where the round comes out is visibly deeper than the Thermold.
  3. Nobody has used these mags? I find that very hard to believe. After a quick glance and test fit, the Tapco's need the release lever catch to be trimmed just like the Thermolds. The Tapco's are also wider where the mag inserts into the receiver, and they might need some work in order to get them to fit properly. It's not real hard to get them in, but in a serious situation it may just cost someone dearly.
  4. No problem. I can get pictures of the actual mags later on today.
  5. I recently ordered some mags from IOINC.com. It was the deal with four thermold mags and a pouch, I bought two sets(8 mags). I ordered one of the same set before, so I figured it was okay to do it again. I place my order on Nov. 8th, and just got them in last wednesday. No biggie. I was told by an employee that they had to re-stock on the mags, but I figured as much considering the recent election results. The thermolds I ordered months ago had a slight problem when I ran 1200-ish rounds through my converted Saiga, where the 2nd to last round would fail to feed into the chamber. Always th
  6. Thanks guys.. I just picked up 1200 rounds of Wolf 124gr HP's that feels like they've been moly coated. Hopefully i'll get to run it tomarrow or sunday.. We'll see just how off the FSB is. I forgot to mention the sight is canted 3 or 4 degrees to the right(looking at it while aiming)..
  7. First time ever doing anything like this. Well, firearm related anyways.. Resources: http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/ http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=113D4D0386C4C639 Parts utilized: Tapco-G2 single FCG, screw set, retaining plate, grip screw/bushing. Ace-side folding skeleton stock(8.5"), internal receiver block. CAA-adjustable pistol grip. Master molder magazines. Foreign parts count: 7 Tools used: Dremel with HD fiber cut-off wheels. Punch. Craftsman clamp. Ball-peen hammer. Various sized allen head wrenches and screwdriver bits. Flat file
  8. I received my package today, and it had the correct mags.
  9. Crap, I ordered these on the 11th.. I hope I ordered late enough that they fix their issue and send the correct parts.
  10. Excellent.. Now I just need to know this before jumping in. I'm thinking about getting those specific mags due to cost, but don't want to waste money on them if they can't be used with a bullet guide. I assume they work fine with one, but it's just speculation on my part. I'd also like to pick up a couple 47 rounders.
  11. Oh okay.. I probably already have the needed screw/nut combo anyways.. Cool. Adding another question.. The ACE buttstock is another 922r part, correct?
  12. This is what I plan on purchasing: Tapco- 1. G2 single hook FCG 2. Pistol grip screw and bushing 3. Screw set 4. Shepherds crook ACE- 5. Internal receiver block 6. Folding skeleton stock IOINC- 7. Master molder/trumold mags AIM- 8. CAA adjustable pistol grip ________________________________________________________________________________ _________ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's the plan for now. A few questions though. 1. Will the CAA grip work with the Tapco
  13. Pretty sure we missed it Yeah, it's not looking too good for the waiting list folks........ That sucks... I wonder how much it'll be to source the parts seperately.. I guess some research needs done.
