  1. I like GOB's idea for the lonnnnng five round magazine to which we can do what we want. We should also write our congressmen and senators to repeal these idiotic laws. Let the ATFE go after terrorists not decent gun owners who might make a modifcation which they don't know is illegal. Die terrorist scum
  2. I tried to cut the follower post in the Saiga ten round magazine and still have a ten round magazine. It would have been nice to get more than ten rounds. Die terrorist scum
  3. The AK magazines won't work unless you weld the notch in front of the magazine and file the rear lug to latch in the Saiga. Is a modified magazine count as a US part once it's modified in the US? You can also add Tapco US made magazine followers into the magazine. What if you don't have a pistol grip stock? The law prohibits three or more ('so called evil') features: Bayonet lug, folding stock, flash suppressor, pistol grip and a high capacity magazine. What we need to do is to get that stupid USC 922 ban repealed. Let the law enforcement agencies go after terrorists not gun owners
  4. That's the same thing that I did to a couple AK mags, weld the notch and file to shape. The AK mags will not function unless you convert them or add a bullet ramp into the rifle. This is for the 7.62x39 round. I can't tell you what the other calibers need to function. I also filed the rear tang so the mag will lock into the Saiga. Die terrorist scum!
  5. We must work hard to keep Hitlery Clinton from getting into the White House in 08. Her degenerate husband took away too many of our gun rights and fucked up this country for eight years. Now he wants to be UN Secretary Genital and work to take more of our rights and money and give it to that cesspool called the UN. Imagine what that CommuNazi bitch would do if she got into the White House (G-d Forbid) and her husband running the UN? We would also lose American sovereignty and would see more Waco atrocities against decent gun owners. Die terrorist scum
  6. Another option is to modify the magazines (steel ones) instead of the rifle. You can also weld the notch in the AK magazine and file it to shape. File the rear tang afterwards so the magazine will lock into your Saiga. The magazines will be for the Saiga only but it's easier than modifying the rifle. For plastic magazines just buy the Hi-cap Saiga mags now that the idiotic Clinton ban expired. Die terrorist scum
  7. The CZ and the IMI Baby Eagle are nice and share the same magazine as the EAA (Tangfolio) Witness. The Baby Eagle in .40 is a nice piece and shoots very accurately, it also has a polygonal barrel which means I can't use lead bullets. If you can get the IMI Jerrico it has a frame safety instead of the Walther slide safety which is harder to operate. Die terrorist scum!!
  8. What that CETME magazine needs is a new or modified follower. It won't hurt to add a metal strip to the upper magazine sides to beef it up. Die Terrorist Scum
  9. I have a 7.62x39 rifle and I had the top of two 30 rnd. AK magazines arc welded and they shoot nicely. No more jams. Saiga 30 rnd magazines are available now and they are lighter weight than the steel ones. Another option is the bullet guide added to the rifle. For .223 rifle owners I don't know what the differences are between the Saiga and the .223 AK mags Die terrorist scum!
  10. I modified my magazines by having the channel at the top front arc welded and filed to shape. The magazines have worked well for me, this is better than JB Weld and bottle caps. It's also easier than adding a feed ramp which I may still add. Die terrorist scum!
  11. I made a pistol grip stock from Baltic birch which I used two pieces epoxied together and cut to shape. The part which attaches to the rifle was finished with epoxy filler which I still have to see if it will take the recoil. If it won't I'll use fiberglas filled resin which is stronger than Bondo to build up the area. I used the epoxy filler top build up the area because it was faster than shaping it with a router or chisel. Die terrorist scum!
  12. I ordered a Galil peep sight from Numrich Guns but I found out that the sight is mounted on the top cover and I'll have to fabricate my own sight base or order the one from Krebs. Die you terrorist manyook!
  13. Try the Krinkov muzzle brake and if your barrel is less than 16" you probably have to weld it to comply. I tried the M-16 flash suppressor which was better than no brake, I then screwed the Krinkov device and it really reduced recoil and flash. I later had to retreive it downrange because the threaded adapter flew off with the Krinkov device. I never tried the AK-74 muzzle brake but the Krinkov device won't kick up dust nor send a blast to the sides Up yours you tilhas teezi America hating terrorists.
  14. I filed the sleeve on the barrel end and purchased a threaded adapter. I had to increase the hole size on the adapter so it could fit the Saiga barrel. I tried the flash suppressor and it worked nicely. I then screwed on the Krinkov muzzle brake and it reduced recoil considerably. Make sure your screws have loctite and are tightened otherwise your adapter will go down range as mine did. I found it fifteen yards down range and reinstalled it tighter. JoeKen Firearms also make an AK-74 style muzzle brake for those with a stock barrel.
  15. I'll stick to my Saiga. The FN FAL was used by the Israeli army during the 1967 war and had functioning problems. The problems were attributed to the desert dust getting in the mechanisms. Many soldiers threw out their FALs and used AKs taken from killed enemy soldiers which functioned better. That's why the Galil is based on a Kalashnikov action (Valmet receiver) married to a colt barrel. My friend served in the 1967 war and curses the FN rifle for getting his friends killed and for its heavy weight.
  16. I worked at Douglas Aircraft and riveting requires an air hammer and bucking bar on the other side. You also need an air supply. Pop rivets are NOT as strong as solid rivets and may pop off at the wrong time especially if used in a highly stress application (your Saiga firearm). I don't know how I'll get any riveting done if I convert my Saiga. Make sure you vote against John French-poodle Kerry if you want to keep your rights to own your guns. Otherwise the UN will confiscate them at his command. Don't forget Renquist is sick, Kerry will appoint Ted 'Chappaquiddik' Kennedy to the
  17. What about using the peep sights from a Galil or Valmet rifle? They mount the rear sight to the receiver cover.
  18. Krebs make (or will make) an AR15 style peep sight which is top cover mounted' like the Valmet or Galil for the AK. I'm waiting for one of those because it give a longer sight radius than the Mojo sight. Meanwhile I'm going to use a washer screwed to the open sight to make my own peep sight.
  19. To make AK mags work in your Saiga you must file the rear tang until it locks into the rifle. Next you have to weld or as others have done they filled the front of the magazine with JB Weld. I had mine welded and filed it to shape after the 94 ban expired to make the top flush and eliminate the notch. The rifle then worked perfectly with the 30 round magazine. Before this I tried to file without filling in the notch and the rifle jammed and a Saiga is hard to unjam. I like to find out how to make a feed ramp so I can use real AK magazines.
  20. After the assault weapon ban expired, I had an AK 30 round magazine welded at the top to make it flush with the magazine top like the Saiga. I filed it to shape and it worked perfectly. If you only file the rear tang the magazine won't feed right and the rifle will jam. I could try to JB weld or epoxy the top as well. Does anyone have a solution to plastic magazines; Polish or Bulgarian?
