  1. Go out and rent guns at a range and see what you like. I wanted a .40 so I shot sigs, H&Ks, and glocks. The glock felt better to me and I shot more accurately with it so I went with the glock. It may be different for you....get what feels right and shoots well. That's the best gun for you. I like my glock. I'd love to have an xd40 and I will buy a 1911 model .45 within the next year. I'm trying to go with the large capacity guns first to be sure I have magazines in case of a ban. Then I'll buy the 45 since I won't have anything larger than a 10 rd mag. I really like the Taurus
  2. Just got a reminder that there are S12's in stock if anyone is looking for one. FYI... http://www.rrarms.com/catalog.php?prod=GIZ109 Happy Holiday!

  4. Bvamp, come on man. Read your question again. A saiga12 agp 10 round mag holds how many rounds? The answer is 10. Sooooo if the law says mags can only hold 10 rounds, and the Saiga12 agp 10 round mags only holds 10 rounds. (the key is 10 rounds) Then it is legal. Now lets say the agp Saiga12 mag holds 15 rounds. Then it would be illegal. Why, because it didn't exist prior to the A.W. ban. Sounds like they are legal in Cali. if as you say, you need to use a tool to remove the mag. and the law states 10 rounds in a feeding device as the limit. The federal law has no bearing on t
  5. I actually haven't fired the RIO 00 shells yet, I was just loading them and they were sticking in the mags. Low brass bird shot seems to move through the mag with no problem. Basically, I loaded the mags with the RIO and pushed them out with my thumb as would be done when firing. It would take over a second for the next round to feed up to the mag. lips. I'm thinking that the shell brass is too wide or my mags are too narrow. I will try them out this weekend.
  6. Metals exibit Elastic and Plastic deformation. Steels have a large elastic region, e.g. steel has a lower slope (Young's Modulus) of the elastic region in a stress versus strain curve (stress being force/cross-sectional area and strain being change in length/initial length). The elastic region is the region where a material can be stretched and it will shrink back to it's original size. The Plastic region is where there is permanenet deformation. Aluminum has a very small elastic region which means that every time it stretches it is essentially a permanent change in length (Young's Modulus
  7. It actually seems that they bind due to width. It doesn't seem as though they are too long for the mags, though. Just as I pushed new shells in they would move very slowly or stick.
  8. No body has had problems or nobody uses the rio royal?
  9. I bought 250 rounds of the Rio Royal buckshot and it is binding in the AGP mags. I just read a post on cheap places to buy and somebody said they had a bunch of failure to load with Rio Royal. I wish I would've read that before I bought it, I would've got the Federal LE.... Anyway, is anybody else having this problem and has anybody come up with a remedy? Any other brand of ammo doing this? Thanks!
  10. I have the saigatech. It also has teh bent metal. Next round I'm going to use the Tromix for a comparison.
  11. Thanks Louie! Great info. I appreciate the help. I'm ordering "The ABCs of Reloading" and I'm going to the library to pick up an old version to read before I order equipment. I must have missed them because it's saying they're out now
  12. Current numbers selected up to page 18 @ ~1PM. This is done through a number sort. Don't edit previous posts or it will screw up any future numbers. We don't want to have to go through all the posts again. Repost your original post with edition at the end so we can keep track. 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 5 6 7 7 7 7 7 9 10 11 12 12 13 13 13 15 17 18 20 21 21 23 23 25 27 27 28 31 34 36 37 40 42 42 47 47 48 49 57 66 67 69 69 71 75 75 80 88 94 99 100 101 104 110 111 112 117 120 121 122 123 125 126 136 138 142 145 151 171
  13. Yes, since it already has a detachable magazine, converting to a pistol grip now has two of the listed characteristics and would be a banned firearm.
