  1. That was my original idea to have the stock fold to the left. The problem is that to fold to the left I had to reverse the adapter. That means that to close the stock one has to push UP instead of down on the stock. I didn't like the left folder for that reason so I used the standard right hand folder. Just one of the good points of the ACE setup is that one can adjust the stock (up or down.) That let's it clear the charging handle so it will shoot with the stock closed. Also, with the stock closed there is about 1/2 inch between it and the receiver. All you have to do is just pull
  2. Here you go...Like I said ACE ROCKS! After all the usual conversion stuff, I had to fit the receiver adapter (hey it's a TIGHT fit and that's good) and also remove material from the rear tang (after I cut it off) so the folder would close. My pistol grip hole must not have been exact enough; therefore, I had to work on the hole again as the pistol grip nut goes thru the new receiver adapter and the hole in the frame. I almost forgot - during the conversion I shortened and rounded the bolt stop lever on the grinder as it was WAY TOO long and too square for me. Also, I removed
  3. When I'm not fondling it I believe I'll SHOOT IT! (the same thing that I do with my 870 and 500a)
  4. ACE makes some HIGH QUALITY stuff! I ordered the 'cut the dang tang' receiver adapter and the folding stock. I used Mr. Dremel to remove the tang and my grinder to finish up. I will post some pics soon. I am very pleased to say the least...as THE SAIGA 12 converted w/US parts and the ACE tangless folding stock is THE TICKET!!! The stock is ROCK SOLID. All I need now is a screw-on Flash Hider as I have purchased four 5 round mags via the Internet. MadDog
  5. Which length ACE stock did you use! IT LOOKS GREAT!!!
  6. I need some Saiga 12 mags (or mag). Five rounders are OK. MadDog76nospam@comcast.net Remove the nospam TIA MadDog
  7. I have a Sagia 12 and if I use the new tangless receiver block from Ace, do you have to remove material from the block to fit it inside the Sagia receiver? If so HOW MUCH? I want the ACE; however, I can't decide between the regular block and the tangless. I like the look of the tangless as the gun looks cleaner. The downside of cutting the tang is that the ACE will be the only stock for the gun. Give me some input... TIA MadDog
  8. The old rivet holes near the rear of the receiver. After the conversion is complete, you are left with two holes on each side of the receiver. Some use alum screw posts, some use screws, some weld up and grind down so there are no holes, and some just leave the holes as is. I was wondering about drilling the holes out to accept another set of trigger pins and then using "E" clips to hold the new set of trigger pins in place. Advantages: steel pins you have something to attach the wire 'shepards hook' to hold the trigger/hammer pins in usage of standard AK parts Disadvantages:
  9. I just received my Saiga-12 19" with screw choke barrel. I am planning the PG conversion and I wondered if anyone has enlarged the old trigger pin holes and used a set of ak trigger pins and 'C' clips to hold them in place? Just wondering before I order two to use in my conversion. TIA...MadDog
