Congrats on the good deal. This thread made me laugh as a misplaced Texan i must be older than some of you other Texas guys cause i don't think i've ever been asked for my DL or anything when doing a private sale. The other thing that gives away you guys age is thinking a guns stolen because he got a good deal...... Before the interweb came along geting new prices for a used gun was basically imposible.

You are kidding correct? I mean ak's aren't precision rifles but i wouldn't go so far as to say they are useles at 300 meters(if your talking what the weapon was designed for)...... and AR's are a far cry from limited to 30-50yrds..... Like some of the other guys i shoot prone standing etc I guess they just didn't bother engraving the top portion of the sights on the saiga or did it for sporting issues...... all the notches are on the bottom just like my other ak's .... seems strange sense that seems like it would take a seperate run of parts.....

I just took my converted 20" saiga 762x39 out this evening (just got it yesterday) Nothing i did was scientific and the wind was blowing a steady 20mph with gust to 40 so it wasn't ideal circumstances...... But best i could tell it didn't shoot any diffrent than my other 2 AK's. I put 200rnds threw it and it ran flawless...... I bought this rifle with the idea of making it look similar to an rpkish thing or something.............. need to find out what bipod will work on the barrel?
