  5. one night a kid got tased while holding a pistol aimed at a fellow deputy. he started complaining. then i asked if he wouldve the deputy shot him instead. his opinion of being tased completely changed. he thanked the deputy for not shooting him.
  6. You protect what passes for "Society", you do not protect me, and i resent the insinuation of otherwise. I can count the times ive had need of the services of a police officer in my entire life on one hand, and most of that is because commercial insurance claims require a man in a blue suit to write it down before they will accept it, and I have never asked a police officer to "protect" me. Thats my responsibility, and one i take seriously, thank you. Im sorry that you feel insulted by this thread, and i hope i havent said anything to further your resentment, but as i stated previously, th
  7. some here are stuck in the good old boy era. well, where i work we are always subject to what our lts, capts, majors, or sheriff want. its easy to bash everyone without knowledge of anything. if anyone violates our sop or general orders, the person that violated them are dealt with swiftly. 1 got put on suspension for bringing his cellphone past a certain point. 2 were terminated b/c of defending themselves at a local fastfood restaurant. they defended themselves against former inmates. but it made local news...and like the atlanta braves, they were fired b/c it didnt look good for the dept.
  8. http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=9359 http://cbs5.com/crime/sacramento.police.shot.2.1018781.html no such as a "routine" traffic stop.
  9. anything id say would get called a lie by either sopmod or nalioth. they are obviously experts on everything. the country remark was tossed out because alot of people always complain how bad it is in the US. i agree certain things are as great as id like, but i deal with it. going into any situation, we have to react. even though sometimes we could use deadly force, we dont since we have other means. i stated earlier i was in his same situation. had my badge sitting in the pocket of the door of my truck and it wasnt even seen. the officers did their search...took a few minutes, and i was off.
  10. so, if u stop me and i have a gun on me, u wouldnt care where it is? i could have a warrant for 1st degree murder, and if im using a friends car, u wouldnt know that even if u ran the tag info. guess id have to wear my class-As for u.
  11. Well there's only one kind of civil servant capable of violating someone's someone's 4th and 5th Amendment rights and it isn't a fireman or a school teacher and with society's awareness of the BOR and Constitution at the highest it's been in 50 years a lot of LE policy, procedure and culture that developed while Americans were "asleep at the wheel" is bringing LEOs under intense scrutiny with little gems like gun confiscations during disasters to tasing old ladies and juveniles for failure to comply "quickly enough" is making even the most well meaning and decent of you lads an unwelcome sight
  12. "refusal to identify" aka obstruction or resisting w/o violence... some people that posted sound like jailhouse lawyers. sounds good to them and great if they convince someone of it...but disappear like smoke and mirrors when in front of a judge. these last couple of pages got me to laugh. btw, sopmod, thanks for grouping us with the SS. very tactful. guess thats how u view us. look a little more recent than ww2 and ull see that the holocaust was said to be bad. mkay? we dont put people in concentration camps. we are actually here to protect ignorant people as urse

  14. Well, this is all well and good, but we're WAY off from the original posters situation. 1) In Indiana both concealed and open carry are legal with a permit 2) the OP has a valid IN CHL/CWL/CCP/(whatever you want to call it) 3) the officers had no crime to investigate upon his presentation of the aforementioned license 4) illegal search i guess since someone has a permit, they cant possess a stolen firearm? this arguement can go on til the end of time. many stolen firearms at recovered just b/c numbers are ran. pretty soon ill be reading a thread that someone is saying i
