  1. The KA-1230 won't work in that application since it is only .748" in diameter itself. We'll have some larger .308 brakes coming out around summer that we may be able to configure for this application if there is enough demand. Thanks, I hope you find that its a big enough market to make them. I believe the barrel OD is actually 17.5mm (.68898")
  2. Great news but how about a pinned unit (with or without FSB) for us guys that want to shorten our barrels? My 308's muzzle dia would be .690" at the cut or do you have a KA-1230 version that would work?
  3. I bought a 21 inch 'cause it was all I could find at the time but its going under the knife to 16" next week for the reasons you listed as advantages for a short firearm. The advantages of a longer barrel are meaningless to me, particularly as a SHTF gun. Those engagements will likely take place sub-100 yards. Any shots taken over that in an urban setting is guesswork and ought to be avoided IMO.

Thats good to hear they've changed that as the tube tends to mess up co-witnessing. Think I'm going to go with one of those though it wouldn't be that tough to notch out the top if one had to. I'm assuming its the smaller gas block model that fits the 308?

I like it! Question on your FSB, I noticed it has regular AK type ears. Is that a mod? The Ace sights that I've seen have a tube instead of the ears.
  6. No, its the pistol grip conversion that causes that
  7. Well, they can be made to fit . . . its definitely not a drop-in Ver21/VEPR stock install
  8. OK, I got to compliance on my ver21 another way. Can't answer your question however.
  9. Why would you want to do that?
  10. I found one at Gilberts last year
  11. The Ver 21 is 100% Russian. The FCG is not a conversion.
  12. That looks outstanding - what upper is that?
  13. I'm going with that concept though I'm not entirely comfortable with relying on my mags to put me over the 922r hump. My rifle didn't need converting since it is a ver-21 model and I'm happy with leaving the internals factory stock so the forearm and a USA made buttstock along with SGM mags gets me there with a one part cushion (I hope).
  14. OK, earlier in this thread I posted up that the forearm was kind of loose out on the nose when I first installed it. My solution to tighten things up was to bend the ends of the gas block pin which seemed to solve the problem. After some rough play and plinking it loosened up again. Took it apart and it seemed that the metal inserts in the forearm weren't quite catching the pin properly. Now that the pin was bent it was only catching the edges of the inserts and the range work caused them to lose their grip. It was as if the gas block pin wasn't long enough now that it was bent over. So
  15. I put a different stock & PG on mine so nope, gonna keep it.
