I paid $15 for a screw, and tightening it down the slot stripped a bit. I am considering duracoating the gun. If I do, I am not sure the screw will survive. So, if anyone has a cheap grip screw, I would be interested in getting another, just in case.

I think I was hasty in evaluating it. After taking the rifle outside, there really isn't a problem.

I just swapped a Bushnell Holosight for a Kobra. I mounted the Kobra on my upper handguard. There seems to be quite a bit of parallax. The sight is supposed to be parallax free. Is putting the sight too far forward the problem, or is there a problem with the sight?

When and how much? Looks great.

Any reviews? How does it compare to the DPH? Anyone add a Williams peep sight?

Went out and tested the taped catch. Works like a charm. Guido thanks for the advice. Order is being placed at K-Var ASAP.

Took another look at it. With the dust cover off, I noticed that the mag could be pushed up about a sixteenth of an inch. I put two strips of Gorilla tape on top of the mag release/catch. It hand cycled flawlessly. I will take it to the range as soon as I can and test it. Is this a problem others have experienced? If it is the problem, what is the better solution than tape?

I bought a like new converted 7.62x39. The gun looks like it has not been shot. It came with a 20 round mag, and I bought 30 Hungarian mags. The ramp is screwed on, so it must have been drilled and tapped. Went to the range today. Out of 180 rounds at least 30 jammed or did not feed. Some stovepiped, some time the bullet did not load at all. My guess is that the mag needs to seat higher, or less likely the part of the bolt that pushes the next round in needs to be longer. How do I troubleshoot and fix this problem. Thanks, Mark

Is the law being enforced? If yes, how and where? Are ATF agents checking guns at ranges, etc. I am not advocating breaking the law, I am just curious.

I just put the ATI stock on my Saiga. It sticks out, but it is a nice stock. I have short arms and it is comfortable on the 2nd setting. I like that it also is a side folder.

In a 30 round magazine, how many rounds to you keep in the mag? I understand that if you keep 30, the springs degraded. True, False?

I have a 7.62x39 on its way to me. It has been converted and has rails on the foreend. I have a Bushnell Holosight that I am going to mount. I have read if I mount it on the foreend, I may have problems due to heat. Ideally I would like to cowitness(I think that is the word for seeing the iron sights through the holo). What is the best location for mounting, and what mounts should I use(if not the foreend rails? Thanks

It is the holosight. I just agreed to buy a new one locally for $150. The availability and price answered my question.

Anyone have an opinion of which one to choose and why?

I am pondering what stock to use. The Tapco seems to be the best deal. However, the Vltor, Rock River and Magpul seem to be higher quality. My question is is the quality worth an additional $100, practically speaking. That is will the more expensive stock shoot better. Will the Tapco break etc.

I have searched and read through the threads. I was going to get a 308 and do a conversion. I changedmy mind,due to the cost of mags and ammo and have decided to go with the 7.62 x39. I can get either a 20 or 16 inch barrel. From what I have read, the 20 inch increases the velocity and has better powder burn. The 16 is more manuverable. Accuracy is a wash. The weapon is going to be primarily a SHTF gun.I have handguns and shotguns for home defense. What should I do?
