  1. Post deleted because of violation of forum rule #1 B
  2. I second the vote for more of Christina. I started reading this thread a few days ago and posted once but I have (like a dumbass) read this thread once again. I have to say reading it the first time I felt a little dazed. After reading it the second time I think I actually lost some IQ points.
  3. expeditionx thanks for clarifying that for me. Good info. I have to second that we need to see the rest of the series in dinzaq's post.
  4. I read most of the first page of this thread. A very long thread with a very badly beaten dead horse. CTCStrela has a good point, but what I think people are failing to understand is that the Saiga in not the only semiauto "assault weapon" on the market. There are CETMEs, HK91's, HK G3's, SAR 1,2,and 3, FNFAL's. All are available with magazines greater than 10 rounds. In fact CETME/HK91/G3 20 round mags go for about 5 bucks. If the ATF was really interested in this I think that they would stop the importation of these rifles. Even if they do what's to stop a company from having the pieces ship
  5. Try this guys site. He has a lot of good info on AKs. I know there is a topic about bump firing. http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/index.shtml
  6. I also like the trigger pull of the stock FCG. When I have a lot of free time I might decide to convert it then to a Red Star adjustable FCG. I put one in my SAR1 and love it. Can you post a picture of your thumbhole stock?
  7. I tried to search gunbroker for that stock set and couldn't find it. Can you forward a picture of the stock set thanks.
  8. You could try this site http://www.tantal.kalashnikov.guns.ru/bstpso.html They have two different mounts one is a high mount and the other is a low mount. They run 39.95 plus 5.50 for shipping. He accepts paypal Below you will see a picture of what the low mount looks like.
  9. What's wrong with Wolf .308? I love Wolf 7.62X39 and I have even tried their 45ACP and 9mm with great results. I'm very interested in why you say it sucks.
  10. Sort of off topic. Funny I should see a post dealing with a Chrono. I was at the range today and a friend of mine set up his crono to test some of his reloads. Just for Shits and grins we ran my Romanian SAR1 with Wolf 7.62X39 through it. I was shooting Wolf 122gr HP and out of 10 rounds the average was just under 2300fps at the muzzle. I noticed in another post on this board that somebody hates Wolf. What's wrong with Wolf in .308. I haven't tried any as of I have been shooting mil surplus. Just interested.
  11. Krinkovliu, The M16 was never designed to be fired full auto from the shoulder. In the A1 configuration (select fire semi/auto) the muzzle will still rise on full auto. I beleive that on full auto there is something like 3 rounds actually traveling the barrel at the same time. On full auto the M16 was designed to be fired from the hip while laying on its side and sweeping left to right to take full advantage of the muzzle rise. The current version supplied to troops is the A2 version which has select fire of semi/3 round burst. This was done to help our troops control muzzle rise. There are
  12. I have a Saiga 308 and a Romainian SAR1(7.62 x 39). Physcially the carrier from the SAR works without the bolt. However the hole for the bolt is larger in the SAR than it is in the SAIGA. I tried putting the bolt from the Saiga in but it keeps falling out. Don't have exact measurements sorry.
  13. Glad to see I'm not the only one who views Steve's pages. He has a lot of good info there. I even sent him a couple of my manuals in adobe so he could post them up. The rate of twist on a Saiga is actually 1/12.59. In case your interested.
  14. As always if you can't place rounds on target no matter what you are shooting and what the round is designed/advertised to do it doesn't amount to a pile of you know what. Any weapon in the hands of a qualified experienced shooter will be lethal to the limits of that weapon. The same weapon in the hands of a non-shooter is just a method of delivering rounds down range. When talking about stopping power of a particular round this is usally arrived at after long hours of research and testing and experience. For the most part we are all just putting rounds down range and working on the experience
  15. Eric86GT, Did you need to install the bullet guide that is mentioned in the article you used?
