  1. In NY, semi-auto rifles are limited to 5 rounds for big game. Considering I'm looking into getting a .308 Saiga, I'd be interested in a couple 5rnd mags. Mario
  2. How big is the average deer out your way? How big is the largest deer likely to be found out your way? I personally prefer the heavier bullets in any caliber. In a .308, I would go with a 180gr SP. Mario
  3. Have you been able to test this out? Does it hold zero, etc? Inquiring minds want to know... Mario
  4. Not a fan of Quad rails (on anything). Maybe Ultimak will come through... Mario
  5. I was perusing the Ultimak site thinking about how a short barrelled Saiga .308 with a foward mounted scope would be great for close range hammering of hogs, deer, black bear, moose, etc and a great mid-range "zombie gun." Then I noticed they don't make them for the rifles...:-( Anyone out there that does? Mario
  6. Thanks, folks! I've actually been on here for some time, but this just started recently. Mario

  8. Hey TriggerHappy, They were likely responding to a call from a non-gun owning neighbor that was from NYC and freaked when they saw you with a rifle. The only applicable law is that you can't shoot within 500ft of a dwelling unless you own/rent it or have written permission. And, of course, tresspassing if it was private land. I am a few hours away in Schoharie County. When I was getting ready to move here from Alaska, I called the local NYSP barracks and asked to speak to the Sgt. on duty so I could ask him about gun laws. I said I was moving from Alaska to his region of NY.
