  1. damn that's crazy expensive!! My conversion with plum kvar kit, posp, and all compliance parts was only $375ish... did it myself, as I am too picky to let someone else do it. buy a dremel and give it a shot, it's easy
  2. nope, It's a Harris, from cabelas. About $70 plus another $35 for the barrel mount. expensive, but worth every penny. Highly recommend it to anyone!
  3. well, took the 308 out today. using wolf steel cased ammo, 1st group was 3 shots, sub moa. pretty darned impressed with this rifle. easily the most accurate one I own. I don't think I've ever had a group that tight with anything! I don't have any pics yet, but I'll be going out again this week and I'll try it again and snap pics, maybe some video if I can figure it out. I'm in love with this rifle!
  4. Isnt one on those scopes that's correct, just the chevron in the center. thanks for the compliments guys, I'll get some better pics tomorrow at the range, and in the daylight. maybe some video or an action shot or two I just boresighted it, the zero process is not as hard as I had expected. hopefully it'll drive tacks at 100yds... using wolf steel cased stuff, can't imagine it will be that accurate.
  5. I used the sanding drum on the dremel, and lay it right in the low spot on the hammer, work it back and forth over the hump on the hammer where it interferes with the cross pin in the receiver. just keep checking it with the axis pin. make sure to take off enough, slide the bolt carrier in and check to make sure it goes far enough forward, you don't want to get light primer strikes (if it hits the pin before it contacts the firing pin/bolt.
  6. thanks! will be sure to post my groups from this weekend. I had a pos1 on my yugo sks and loved it, so this was a no brainer..
  7. yup, sure is. 4x24 from kalinka. ordered from them many times and they always take good care of me. d357, you'll need two of them. not sure on the bulb, it came in the scope...
  8. Still need to strip it, duracote it, remove fsb and attatch muzzle brake... Big thanks to Dinzag, and Terry from DPH. Here she is before, unfired just out of the box-(2nd from left)
  9. not sure if this helps, but I used to use the new S&B match grade in my 91/30 mosin PU and it was very good stuff. Not corrosive of course, but very accurate. I can't imagine the old S&B stuff is any worse...
  10. Brian, thank you for the reply, sorry for the gripe, I have fitted the parts to my liking and they work fine. My only concern was that the parts were expensive, and didn't seem like they were test fitted before shipment. I realize that not every saiga is the same, so no worries. I am happy and will purchase Dinzag parts again.
  11. I just got done grinding down the gas tube and filing the edges down, it fits, but still snug. I also used a dremel on the retainer, and it too now fits.
  12. stansplace: you think nobody turns out bad parts once in a while? hows toyota doing right now... seems they always had a good rep until they effed up a couple cars, now everyone is crying about it. I'm not questioning DINZAG's integrity, I just want to know why these parts are not fitting. you can't tell me you wouldn't be pissed if you blew $140 on something and it didn't work..?? motopilot1: I am a fabricator/welder, I don't need you to tell me how to fix the problem. my point was that I could have bought a handguard retainer and gas tube online and had them shipped to my house and was
  13. I ordered a gas tube and lower handguard retainer(.308) almost two weeks ago, and just received my order today. The gas tube is pitted from rust, and was painted over, the gas tube is way too long, about an eighth inch, won't fit at all, and the retainer is too tight to fit over the barrel. I was trying to get this thing pieced together for tomorrow as I am going to a long range shoot at my local range. Guess I won't be doing that. I assumed that these parts would fit like a glove for the high price, which is why I bought them to begin with. I don't have another month to
  14. I Like my 67e Stevens trench gun, even though it's quirky and the lifter doesn't actually 'lift' half the time
  15. glad to hear you got it. what was the culprit?
