Don't take it off. You will reduce the monetary value of your gun by doing so. It is designed to have a scope rail, and can be used with a red dot sight. It will leave you with holes in the side of your reciever you will have to plug up.

You are right, what I though was an ejection port looks like a loading port. Too bad for cross dominant folks like me too. Looks way cooler than the keltec.

Someone mentioned the UTS 15 is right side eject only. Looking at the images, it looks like there is an ejection port cover on both sides of the reciever. Maybe it can be switched? Does anyone else see this?

50 caliber rifles like the Barrett CAN'T be classified as destructive devices, since a DD is defined as a weapon with a bore diameter of OVER .5 inch without a sporting purpose. Not .5 inches. Any 12 gauge could be classified as one but with the Saiga IMO it is very unlikely as there are so many floating around trying to get them all registered with an amnesty would be a nightmare. Do you think they want to process 10,000s of amnesty forms?!?! These guns are way more popular than the two other shotgun DDs.

One member did post pics of a gun that had the pins holding the barrel in break or fall out- the barrel shifted forwards in the reciever. Someone said it was a "safety feature" to allow the gun to fail in way that would not hurt you if subjected to a dangerous load.

I read somewhere that Taurus was going to have to constrict the end of the barrel to .50 caliber to get it approved... don't know if it's true though.
