I bought mine for $120 from CDNN. I bought it to annoy my local 3-gun match director...it still functions for this purpose.

I need the little icon of an hour glass that says..........."Working".........pics coming.. The volume of emails has gotten away from me at times....Sory. Anyway, the Auto bolt release can be adjusted by dressing the contact area of the hold open to carrier face. A little more angle and you will disengage by hand. Standard models do not have the release button. I will try to answer all questions with the instruction manual. Are these going to be available as kits or only as a mod by you?

Anyone happen to keep the destructions that came with their poly-choke? I am curious how much room is required for the threads? (linear to bore) Thanks!

Oooooo....a FAL charging handle...now that DOES appeal to me! I award you 100 mad scientist points!

My ISP changed from alltel.net to windstream.net, for anyone who finds these threads and cannot get pics to load, check the source code and change the URL to windstream.net to fix the images.

Want to load a full mag with the bolt closed?
stimpsonjcat replied to vintagedude88's topic in Saiga-12
Still amuses me to remember the berating I got for doing this mod all those years ago from 'professional gunsmiths'. Not to disparage the current crop of modifiers, looks like they have taken it to a very polished conclusion, just saying it's funny how things worked out. In the beginning there was... -
The angle on that device looks familiar... Stare at that for a sec and it will be obvious what the rock in mag well does to aid in loading. It's a nice piece though, glad to see someone finally got one to market. It'll be taken as heresy, but I have all but stopped shooting my S12 in competition as I prefer to shoot heavy class these days and that requires the pump.

I made those mods to my bolt and posted those pics years ago. The S12 is still running like a top. Russians always leave extra metal on things. Hmmm...I bet I could sell my spare bolt/carrier for more than I pais for my S12 originally...no don't ask, I will NOT!

Beta Stimpcatch review + bolt mod. Large pics.
stimpsonjcat replied to ForGreatJustice's topic in Saiga-12
Well, I haven't been trying to make these since the beta testing petered out. Mine still works fine. I think there is a magwell option under developement. -
My apologies, looks like it was January 05 when I posted the bolt mods and was told I was nuts for making them. I just looked at the pic dates on my server...can't find the original thread. This one is close http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=4979&hl=

All old pics are reposted to their original locations.

I posted the simple bolt mods like 4 years ago...But pretty much the pics in this thread are the same thing. Glad to see folks are finally finding the cajones to 'mess with their bolts'...back when I originally posted there was some reluctance.

Nope, not until that 8mm FAL is done. Been watching your progress on FAL Files and I am dying to see that thing breathing fire. I love how you fixed the cartridge OAL issue. I meant can I retire so I can work on just guns? The day job gets in my way! The 8mm FAL already works...cycles fine...but she destroyed the first version of ejector I tried. I am going to try putting the ejector on the bolt next. Gotta tear the mill head apart first. It's nice to be loved!

Hi guys! Beeen a long time since I posted...I have a 2 year old and she gets all my spare time! I did buy a spare bolt and carrier, but I have never needed them. The modded bolt is still happily eating slugs and such, no wear or failure. This mod was a big help in addition to the stimpcatch (which is a dead project until I get a few more things off my plate). Sorry guys, but the Saiga stuff kinda fell off my radar when I started shooting 3-gun regularly as I found I was faster with a tube gun single loading...I know, I know...sinner and all, but the ability to choose ammo type

What did you pay for your Saiga 12 when you bought it?
stimpsonjcat replied to IPSC_GUY's topic in Saiga-12
$140 or so from CDNN. <ducks> Hey stop!
