  1. I am going to look at my WASR. It doubles a lot. I always thought it was because the firing pin was slamming foward with the bolt as the firing pin doesn't have a spring.

    Bi-Pod.

I got one from Walmart. $40 or so. I mounted it on the handguard and put in a longer screw. It is solid.
  3. I bought my s-308 first. I saw a pretty dark wood ak in the pawn shop and I had to have it. I became a member here and then I learned about the s-12.
  4. I put the Texas Ak trigger in mine.
  5. Mainly the cheap orange plugs. My 30-06 is loud enough that I use both. My Keltec Plr-16 is so loud that plugs and muffs aren't quite enough.
  6. I put it back in both my s-308 and my s-12. It was hard, but the youtube video helped. Afterwards I decded that it rubbed into my finger too much and removed them. If I ever go somewhere where I absolutely have to have one I will put it back in, but the range around here has no rules about them.
  7. I have a 500 and love it. I carried an 870 as a cop and loved it too. The 870 had rifle sights and was just as accurate as my 500 at 25 yds shooting slugs. If I found an 870 for a good price I would get one. I have fired over 2000 rounds through the 500 and it has never failed.
  8. I bought my utg stuff from the local gun shop. I only buy from ctd when I don't have another choice.
  9. I was looking at the latest Cheaper Than Dirt catalog and they have a UTG quad rail for the S-12. Does anyone have one? Has anyone heard about them. I have an UTG quad on both my Bushmaster and my Wasr-10. They both have red dots and I have found the rails to be sturdy and I have never had to re-adjust the optics. What do y'all think.
  10. I just ended up ordering them through the mail. It didn't take long, but I live in Texas. I have two. One in my v21 s-308, and on in my S-12. They are just as good as Tapco IMHO. I have a Tapco fcg in my wasr-10 and both triggers are crisp and smooth. They both have a fair bit of travel and I have polished all of them and they improved. Both triggers are compliance parts. So I guess it depends on what you can get.
  11. I got mine from CSS and will be ordering 2 more for my WASR and S-308.
  12. What amazed me was that this little $20 part stands out so much. It changed the whole look of the gun.
  13. The pics don't do it justice. It looks awesome. It is nothing to install it and I put some red loctite on the threads. It ain't going anywhere. It also allows me to work the bolt with the stock folded which is why I bought. Anyway excellent part and excellent craftsmanship!
  14. Rhodes you hit the nail on the head. That is why I bought my S-308. I know I can hit a human-sized target at 500 yards with my Saiga, and I don't have to worry about it jamming.
  15. My dad has a Match Springfield armory M1A and my v21 doesn't come close with iron sights, however that doesn't mean that the Saiga is not accurate. I can still get 4" groups at 200 yds. His M1A is just a freak.
  16. I found mine in the local pawn shop about a year and a half ago.
  17. I own 18 firearms. My favorite 3 were an AR-15, Romanian Ak, and a v21 Saiga .308. When I learned that there was an AK chambered for 12ga. I had to have one.
  18. I will order a new gas puck, and look over the internals and see what needs to be smoothed out. I will send you a message if I have a question. Thanks!
  19. Appreciate the info Glockmonger I will start searching.
  20. That is what I was thinking. If you limp wrist a pistol when you shoot it you might get the same problem. What can I do to get the ammo to cycle. This is federal ammo the winchester won't even come close. Thanks.
  21. I just finished my conversion and didn't have any problems. It was a fairly straight foward job. I test fired 45 rounds this morning. 20 birdshot, 15 00 buck, and 10 slugs. The birdshot was on gas setting 2, and the others were on setting 1. 30 rounds were fired with the stock unfolded from the shoulder and they cycled fine. The last 10 birdshot were fired with the stock folded and everyone jammed. The stock sits 1/2" below the slide amd doesn't get in the way. I am guessing that when the stock is folded my arms absorb too much recoil and it won't fully cycle. I fired 5 rounds of 00buck from t
  22. I am hoping that the bad guy is so awestruck by the rapid fire of the shotgun that I have all the time in the world to fumble with the mags. In all honesty I just figured the trick to loading with the bolt closed. I was able to get the 5 round mag to load first and then it was pretty easy to do the 10 rd agp's. The BEST method is the one you can do quickly and have the least chance of messing up.
  23. I should have said that it really hung up there. It actually got stuck the first couple of times I pulled the slide back. Where it is now I can ease the slide forward and it will stick which makes up for losing the b.h.o. but all I have to do is pull back and let go.
  24. Wasn't that hard. I didn't bother reinstalling the b.h.o. because it always poked my finger when I shot anyway. I had to grind off some of the front of the hammer because it would catch on the bar in the front. I also smoothed the striking side of the hammer because the bolt carrier hung up on it. Other than that it went in fine. The pull is much crisper and there is less creep. I had it easy because the v21 has all of its parts in the right place. I didn't have to move anything. Oh well now it is legal.
  25. I have seen Saiga's chunking shells pretty far, but mine doesn't. It normally tosses them about 2 feet.
