  1. From the way I understand it, if you have a 5.56, you can shoot .223. But, you shouldn't shoot 5.56, in a firearm marked .223. It has something to do with the difference in gas pressures, and the designs of the casings/chambers. If you got to www.theAKforum.net, there is a topic on this in the ammunition forum. The guy that explained it, did so very well. Much better than I did! I was curious of this myself. I just recently purchased a Bulgarian/Arsenal SLR-106FR. It was marked 5.56, but I had just purchased a bunch of .223. There has been some question as to whether or not the S
  2. That's an idea, but what would be better is a steel cased .223! I'll have to pick up a box of Wolf/Silver Bear this week. I emailed Surefire about buying a follower, so I'll see what they say first. A drop in follower would be the best. Also, +1 USA count. Courtney
  3. Still have the chamber, so still a 30! But, I could have 31! I'm considering the .22 idea first. Still, I don't like the idea of destroying my follower. K-VAR is selling USA made 7.62 followers now, so maybe the 5.56 is on the way. At $1.99 a piece, I wouldn't mind screwing up a few! Courtney
  4. Thanks or the link! I searched on Google, but I couldn't find anything. I was actually thinking about cutting a .22LR casing in half, and gluing it to the top of the follower's hump. But, I think that a metal bolt will tear up the brass after a while. I looked at a Surefire mag at the local gun shop, and that's where I got the idea for the .22 shell. But, thiers is steel. The biggest thing I'm concerned about is ruining my followers. These mags weren't cheap! Courtney
  5. I was curious if someone could take a few detailed pictures of their Surefire followers (out of the mag body)? I'm interested in converting my Bulgy followers so they are BHOs, but I'd like to see how the Surefires work. Also, does anyone have a direct contact for Surefire? I was thinking about purchasing a follower, and seeing if it could be converted to fit the Bulgy waffles. Courtney
  6. Just a guess, but probably since Gray Davis and all the other Liberals that run (ran) that state! Courtney
  7. Welcome to the boards! I agree, I think this would be a faster proccess as well. I'm considering such a move with my new Arsenal SLR-106FR (I know it's not Saiga. That's what I was going to buy, but didn't like the idea of doing the conversion.) I'm very interested in the followers on these magzines. Can someone post detailed pictures of thier Surefire followers? I have a couple Bulgarian "waffle" mags, and I was curious to see if these followers would work in the Bulgies (I'm sure it would take some modification.) I really want a BHO for my Arsenal! Also, does anyone have a di
  8. It looks like a Choate Machine & Tool. They make a great stock! I had one just like that on my SKS for awhile. Well built, and very solid. A little on the heavy side though. At least the SKS version was. But, there's a lot more stock on an SKS, than there is on an AK. Courtney Choate's website
  9. That's too bad. Thanks anyway. Courtney
  10. Yes, I do mean the weld-on strip version. It's for all models isn't it? You have pictures of them on .223s on your website. Courtney
  11. Does anyone have this trigger guard on thier Saiga? If so, could they post some close-up pics of it on thier rifle/shotgun? Id like to get one for my .223 conv., but I want to see how, and where it goes on in better detail. If someone has a pic of it with the pistol grip off, that would be even better. Thanks! Courtney
  12. Does anyone have any info on these? My biggest question is will it work on converting ALL Saigas, or just the S-12? I'd like to get one for a .223 convertion. Anyone know the price? Courtney Tromix trigger guard
  13. I've noticed these "US made" Surefire mags around, does anyone have any info on how well they work? I asume there is no need to modify the feed ramp? Are they reliable? They say they have a bolt hold open? I also read that they were RAA approved? Any answers would be great! Courtney
  14. Where'd you get the mag relaese, and the safety? Those are nice! Courtney
  15. If anyone else is interested, I have four (4) used Galil Orlites I will let go for what I have in them. Either $20 each, or all four for $75 plus shipping. Please email me, NO PMs! Click here for email. Paypal prefered. Thanks! Courtney
