  1. Thanks for the replies guys. I'll go ahead and order the Gunfixr gas plug, and get to polishing the parts. It'll probably be awhile before I'm done with this, but I'll report back when I'm done with that and hopefully the problem will be fixed!
  2. I'm using gas setting 2, and Federal 7 1/2 shot (the cheapo stuff at walmart). The Winchester stuff would always FTE, but that's hardly a surprise as it's well-known to not work well with S-12s. I appreciate the offer to take a look at it - if I'm ever heading out to Mesa sometime soon I'll send you a PM.
  3. Sorry for the confusion. All rounds are firing - gun goes bang every time. The 5th round is simply not clearing the chamber after having been fired.
  4. Hey all, I was hoping that someone would be able to help me out with this problem my S-12 (w/ 22" barrel, dunno if that's relevant or not) has been having. Ever since the beginning, when using my 5 rd mag, there would be a failure to eject on the last round in the magazine. The first 4 would fire fine, and the 5th would get stovepiped essentially. The only mod I've made to this gun was a new stock, and that didn't change anything. This past weekend, I took the S-12 out shooting again, and used Mike-D's 20 round drum mag, and found, much to my chagrin, that every single round fire
  5. I got redirected to the same site. Trend Micro immediately popped up something about it being a virus, and quarantined some files. I don't understand why google's first few hits are malware...?
  6. To be perfectly honest, the prospect of an Obama administration is worrisome to me on several levels. That said, I find it a bit absurd to try and impeach the guy before he's even taken office.
  7. Wow very nice! Definitely an impressive creation to say the least!
  8. What I wanted to ask, which some weird IPS error prevented me from saying was the following: The FFL who transferred my S-12 to me was telling me that the gun and the drum mags are legal to own, but the second you combine the two, the drum+gun combo is potentially a Destructive Device, and then covered under NFA. He told me this after we got into a discussion about semi-auto shotguns, and his interest in why I chose the S-12 over a Benelli or any other semi-auto, and at one point, I mentioned the availability of the drums, and the fact that I would really like to buy one at some point.
  9. So I bought a Saiga 12 off of gunbroker (from an in-state store), and it just came in today, brand new, in box. Of course the first thing I did when I got it home was to take the gun apart, with my friend who is a general expert about AKs. When trying to remove the receiver cover, I was met with a great deal of resistance, but after a little wiggling (not forceful, however), it came out. All the internals were fine, and we put Break-Free CLP over all the pertinent parts. However, when reassembling the gun, we think that the receiver cover was improperly stamped and won't actually fit into
  10. Are there any significant differences between the "SVD" stocks that require you to convert vs. not in terms of recoil and functionality?
  11. Pardon my ignorance, but would this require gunsmithing, or is it something that one could do with a field-strip? If it requires smithing, is there a guide out there somewhere explaining the process?
  12. Thanks again for the responses! I wanted to know if anyone could 1) Give a price estimate on the pistol grip/new stock conversion 2) Differences in 19" vs 22" vs 24" barrels? it's clear from this board and others that the 19" is the most popular, but was just wondering still what the diff was! Thanks again
  13. Yeah I got a 91, favorite gun I've ever owned/shot. Swear by that thing So it seems like the general consensus is the 19" = awesome, but out of curiosity what would the benefits of a longer barrel be (if any)? Thanks again!
  14. Hey Guys, Currently I'm really interested in buying a S-12 (yes, I know, join the club ), but I had some questions first. I see that there are currently 2 major barrel lengths available (ascertained via quick google search) - 19" vs 24", and talk of 22" exists, but I couldn't find any for sale. Does anyone know what the difference would be/why I would want either barrel length vs the other? And in the end, besides having a longer/shorter gun, would it really make *that* much of a difference? I am mostly going to be using the gun for fun - target shooting, but would go hunting wi
