  1. For what its worth, I haven't had any issues with my 308, neither have the guys I know who shoot them. I also haven't heard of any issues with the shotgun versions. I would think that they would have issues before any other loads...so no, they are bulletproof....and fun as all hell. -chuwii
  2. That would definitly be a hijack... I've been there myself, but theres 3 posts for that. Please use one of those. sorry guys, I thought this was breaking news, I paniced. I love my s308 and was thinking of getting a s223. Now I really have to make up my mind soon.
  3. Not to hijack the thread but...The Saiga factory is closing? Anybody have any details on that?
  4. I use Wolf with no problames at all and a few guys I know shoot it exclusively out of their Saiga's with no problems. It's cheap and my scope is zeroed with it so why not.
  5. Hey guys, has anyone had trouble getting a hold of the guys at Kalinka Optics? They sent me the wrong scope mount and I have been tryin to contact them for 2 weeks now with no answers to my emails. I'm just about to call the credit card company and try and get a stop/reverse payment. Any ideas? Is this normal for them cuz if it is I am never doing business with them again... -chuwii
  6. Thanks for all the advice. Also I did search the site and google but I never knew you could use a special search function to search only this site with google. I used the site search and had difficulty because it wont accept search terms with only 2 characters. Once again, thanks to everyone. I might try and play with a G3, a buddy of mine has some that I can experiment with. Thanks again guys.
  7. I've been itching to get some hi cap mags before things get out of control but it seems like $40 is a lot for one mag. How difficult would it be to modify a G3 mag to fit in the S308 without altering the rifle? Is there any write up about it or guide anywhere? I go the s308 as a shtf rifle so i really wanna get some inexpensive hicaps in her...any help would be much appreciated... -chuwii
  8. I had a slip-on limbsaver lg. on my factory montecarlo stock. Fits fairly well, someone suggested grip tape if you want to prevent movement. I'm not sure if it'll fit the skeleton stock but if you dont mind waiting a few weeks I have ordered one for my S12. When it arrives I should be able to give you some input regarding the skeleton stock with the limbsaver slipon. My Tromix stock w limbsaver grind to fit pad already attached just arrived today so I'll be installing it on my .308 tomorrow before work. Almost done!! Nice...Yeah, let me know how it works out for ya. I love the skell
  9. Just curious which recoil pad did you go with the slip on or the grind to fit. I have the skeleton stock and was wondering how the one you have fits. Is it sturdy? If it is the grind on how does it attach to the stock. I just want a few extra inches on the stock, I'm a big guy and the stock feels a bit short compared to the "sport" stock I had on it before.
  10. Yes Yes - it works real simple - go to Kalinka Optics Manual section - they have instructions on how to fit these mounts to AK rails so it is real tight on the gun. thanks! I'll check it out.
  11. Just a quick noob question. Im looking for a scope mount for my 308 and i was wondering if the optics side mounting rail is a universal ak rail, will it fit any standard ak scope mount? another thing, there is a side scope mount that has enough height where you can still use the irons and lift off the dust cover to oil and clean from Kalinka Optics has anyone used or installed this one? How does it work? -chuwii
  12. Wow...I got mine a few months back and was surprised when i paid $425 for it...I heard they were goin up...but...wow... :dollar:
  13. Depends. The Saiga .308 v.21 thumbhole stock fits the forward trigger group like a normal AK has (although the rear of the v.21 receiver is slanted, not straight). The plastic Saiga factory thumbhole fits the rearward trigger group like a normal Saiga has. Since the Saiga is importable with that skeleton stock installed, then you will be in compliance as long as you use the factory mag. If you want to use a high capacity magazine you will need to substitute at least 4 US parts. Awsome, thanks for all the info Netpackrat. I'm gonna get the skeleton stock then. I can just
  14. hey I found a skeleton stock sold by mississippi auto arms. They say it's a raa original part, would i be in compliance if i just changed that, since it is still a stock part? this one looks like it uses the rear trigger group. I'm itchin to get this gun up and running, the regular stock isnt ass comfortable as I like em.
  15. The FBMG mags are either 2 or 1 US part, depending on which production run they are from. Original run had 2 US parts, current mags are only 1 (mag body), since the follower and floorplate are Russian. For a Saiga with no pistol grip or muzzle device, you will need a total of 4 US parts. I'm not aware of a US made thumbhole stock that does not require a trigger conversion, so you'll most likely need another 2-3 US parts, depending on which FBMG mag you have. As for the thumbhole being considered a pistol grip, that is only for certain states like California that have their own AW bans.
