  1. very true. if anything, i would save up for an ar-15/m-16 with rails already on it.
  2. I'm looking for a picture of a "tactical" ak. one with picatinny rails, retractable stock, tactical grip, red dot scope, different pistol grip (m-16 'ish) flashlight, etc. Nate
  3. i agree with Indy......seriously. what is this fitted they speak of? i would laugh if it's a screw or bead from welding.

  5. How would the trigger group, hammer, and firing pin work with this Vepr? Could it possibly be done to a saiga? Everything is pretty much in a same spot as a non-bullpup. Now that would be a conversion!
  6. I clean guns at a gun shop for a little extra cash and of course i clean my firearms to. Of all the cleaning products i've used, Break Free CLP is by far the best. that stuff is all your ever going to need when it comes to maintance.
  7. 1/2" cedar planks i believe. I first set up 10, but broke threw all of them. so i set up 20 (they were old planks i had from a torn down fence). the FMJ went threw those to. Finally i set up a half of a tree trunk (about 6 in. wide) and that did the trick. the HP and SP were stopped about half way threw while the FMJ almost broke threw all. to find them, just follow they dust trails in the boards. another poor man's way of ballistics testing is with phone books. set up 10 or so and hit em'.
  8. Here are some photos of different bullets recovered after being shot through layers of fence planks. They are all Brown Bear's. 1: FMJ; notice how they have flattened (caused by them rotating once they entered the planks). 2: HP; not to much to explain, the pictures do a good job. 3: SP; the particles where to small to gather, but nonetheless left some big holes.
  9. I live in Wichita KS and i see couple every gun show usually in the low 200s. i once saw a guy with a converted (pistol grip and nothing else) saiga and he was asking 450 for it! I laughed.
  10. i was never going to do this to my rifle. iit was just something i noticed. besides, i think full autos are a waste or ammo.
  11. if i were to cut this latch away and i continued to pull on the trigger after a shot, would it allow the hammer to continue the motion and hit the pin. i'm thinking that this make it an automatic. but, i'm probably wrong...
  12. here is a picture when the rifle is cocked and the trigger is still being pulled (the trigger is held throughout the cocking motion of the gun). the latch prevents the hammer from hitting the pin.
  13. i was cleaning my saiga was was touching up the trigger group when i noticed a little latch. now this picture shows the latch when the rifle is cocked and the trigger is not pulled.... (the red line is the space between the latch and hammer and the yellow line is the edge of the hammer. sorry about the picture quality)
  14. I just got a WASR-10 yesterday, believe it or not. the wood has no finish on it. it's just natural and looks great i think. as for shooting, not the best but it's alright, definately a plinker though. I also prefer the wasr over my SKS. to me, the sks is to old school, thats why i got a lightweight folding stock, spice it up a bit. but my saiga is still my favorite, it's whoopin' all their asses lol.
