  1. I fixed the fire selector issue by welding some extra material on the part that makes contact with the trigger. and I learned how to weld in the process
  2. Check out Izhmash's website they are currently producing a Saiga 5.6X39, which would probably be easier to handload for, and they make a Saiga in 9X53 which I am assuming is an awesome load. The 5.45X39 is no where near obsolete, they currently use it in the there special forces hardly obsolete, and Russian counter-snipers and sharpshooters use the SVD which is 7.62X54R so neither is "out"
  3. Here's my feeling on whether Saiga rifles should be considered clones. No, they are made with Russian AK series fully automatic weapons on the same assembly line. They are Russian made.
  4. I see you stated your using the original hammer? Umm bad idea! If your doing the pistol grip conversion you need to have only ten imported parts, that means you now need an american stock and handguard, which american handguards are darn hard to find with easy installations.
  5. Woohoo I just installed my new FCG from Dinzag Arms and it feels great. The pistol grip setup is amazing in a Saiga .308. I want to firstly thank Brian for making it all possible. Then some questions, stock what kind of stock should I put on it(not worried about legalities because I am happily moving!), secondly, paint job, urban camo,EBR, green/black/grey camo? lastly Should I get a different safety lever because the current safety has a problem keeping the modded trigger down, it does keep it safe but it pulls back and stays back, then if you dont push it forward before you take the safety o
  6. no the FSB wouldnt be the right size to thread if i am not mistaken. and no the FSB can't be threaded at all there isnt enought room
  7. I am attempting to remove my front sight block to attach a compensator and I am having a problem getting it off I got the drift pins out but it is still pretty secure any tips?
  8. This may be a little far fetched but does anyone know of a belt conversion for the Saiga 308? Any ideas on how to make one, not that it would be practical just fun as hell.
  9. i was harrassed on my saiga with the manufacturer stock! the police were called to my house because "their was a person with a high caliber rifle in the woods" i live in the backwoods of ulster county, i didnt see a problem apparently the police did, they said it was against the law to shoot within a half hour of sunset(false, i called them on that the next day), and when i they first came onto the property I heard radio chatter that said "suspect armed with an AK-47 and is considered dangerous" i have know idea how they even knew what kind of gun I had unless someone actually saw me enter the
  10. thanks for the help guys its good to hear that there are still some gun lovers in NYS recently i have had some trouble with local LEO's harrasing me about my shooting, i figured i was one of the only ones out here. Thanks again
  11. Okay I am about to start my Saiga Pistol Grip Conversion but i want to know if it will be legal in NYS providing that it is in compliance with 922, not classified as an assault rifle under NYS penal law. Are there any specific laws banning the AK series or duplicate weapons and is Saiga even considered a duplicate?
