  1. If I understand correctly: The tightness of the plug doesn't control the gas. It is the plug's wedge the controls the gas. The notches are what determines the wedge and gas. There's only two choices, no matter how tight or loose the plug is. So tighten all the way down, then back out until you reach the desired notch. Interesting ways to remember: Try notch #1 1st. If doesn't cycle... Try notch #2 2nd. Jake
  2. Looking for a tri-rail for my Saiga 12 to attach a flashlight (and maybe a vertical grip). Like the rail to be snug, lightweight, high quality, no heat problems, comfortable on the hands, good install. How do DPH, Chaos, and SGM Tactical compare? Others to compare? DPH Chaos 10 oz. SGM Tactical Polymer, not sure how this compares to aluminum. Perhaps not as strong as polymer? Not good at transferring heat away from barrel? Like the smooth grip area.
  3. Something like this might work: Saiga Fixed Skeleton Stock by ACE http://riflestocks.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id=356
  4. Anyone one when more will be available for purchase? Why the shortage? I can't imagine a manufacturer not being able to keep up with supply in this economy.
  5. Why the IZ-109, not the IZ-108? Thanks, Jake
  6. Making a small comment about slugs. From my understanding there are two different types of slugs: rifled and non-rifled. A rifled slug can shoot from a smooth bore, a non-rifled needs something in the bore rifled. So it would seem the smooth bore Saiga would be best used with a rifled slug. I also read somewhere than 00 buckshot shoots best with a full choke. This is all hearsay...I'm no expert. Maybe others can make comments regarding my post and add clarification.
  7. Is there a FAQ for this question? I'm interested in the answers too. Thanks.
  8. I just read there's a model Saiga-12S Exp-01-030. ...just getting myself more confused about what all the different models mean. However, I have not found any place that sells the Saiga-12S Exp-01-030.
  9. I'm still lost Is their a book or website that can help explain the differences between the uses and style of the IZ108 and IZ109? Maybe a YouTube video? The only shotgun I'm familiar with is the Remington 870.
  10. Why would someone want rib style sight? Why would someone want pistol style sight? Is there somewhere I can learn about the different applications? From the look of the photos on the Internet, it seems a rib style is for shooting at distances and doing trajectories. The pistol style seems just like a simple sight. My goal is for short range home self defense shotgun. I plan to change the sights to optimize my hit on target odds. Most likely will be adding a light, and some sort of sight that I can see in the dark. Thanks, Jake
  11. What are the differences between the Saiga 12 models IZ109 and IZ108? Some of the descriptions say one barrel is black, the other blue. Never saw a "blue" barrel before. Why would anyone want a "blue" color? But I have heard/seen "blued" barrels, meaning a black barrel. So now I'm confused. There must be more than just a color difference. There must be an important difference to have two models. Thanks, Jake
