I was just notified by my local smith that he isn't able to attempt my project. Here's what I wanted to do. Pull my S-12 bbl out, cut it back and perm attach my poly-choke to bring it back to legal length. If anyone here has any inside info on this possibility . He claims that shotgun bbl's are too thin to pin and weld or even just welding will cause blistering. I thought this had been done by others here but didn't get very good search results. If there are any shops with decent turn around times i'm not above sending it out.

I already have an ACE but for my other S-12 I like the looks of this stock. Anyone know where to find one or if there is a similar made in usa version?

Ok here's the project. I want to build an underfolder stock for my RA M-96. I need some dimensions to start with and thought if I had a polyblock trunnion that it might be just the ticket as a starting point. Well both places that I found ads for them via google http://www.floridagunworks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FG&Product_Code=UAKBLK&Category_Code=AKA+AK+STOCKS and http://www.gungarage.com/ak_accessories.htm. kicked back my orders due to item being unavailable. Over on the XCR forum there was a guy who posted a pic of one he built but he ended up being a s

I dont mind the fitting. one of mine required none and the other did. which shows just how much variation there is between guns.

Robinsons Arms, Kalashnikov action U.S. rifle
SSBiggun replied to Darth AkSarBen's topic in Other AK Rifles
Don't get me wrong. If I suggested you buy a ford because its less problematic than a dodge someone somewhere out there is gonna disagree. I did not suggest you buy 1 only that you look at it i.e. research. I am pleased with mine. I also like my Saiga 12's and they have been the most problematic firearms I have ever owned. Does that mean they are crap? I don't like having to defend my choices to others who have already made up their minds. I can respect your opinion and hope that you can respect mine. after all they are just opinions right? -
Robinsons Arms, Kalashnikov action U.S. rifle

I have known about Robarm for quite some time. Alex is a friend of mine for going on 20 years. The XCR is an awesome bullet launcher and deserves a look by potential buyers. I also have one of their original offerings. The M-96 based on the Stoner 63. I like both rifles. -
What Made You Decide/How Did You Come By Your Saiga 12('s)?
SSBiggun replied to rastamanila's topic in Saiga-12
I thought about them for many years, back when they were like 259.00 but mags were impossible to find. I even got to shoot one but the guy didnt have a mag.(bought it used). The final decision came after the AWB died and MDA announced their drum and AGP's became available. I now have 2 converted , 1 I bought and did myself and 1 my brother bought and I did. He then had the unfortunate accident a week later and passed away having never shot it and I inherited his entire collection as per my 78 yr old mom who became the estate administrator. -
XCR & STG-556 range report
SSBiggun replied to SSBiggun's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
I actually liked the SIG better for smooth operation but the XCR for handleing and ergonomics so its really 6's either way. -
I went to the range yesterday and fired the new Robinson XCR and the Sig STG-556. Ammo: PMC 55 gr ,Fed XM-193,and WW-Q3131. 100 yrds First the Sig. awesome smooth ,almost no felt recoil ejection was aggressive with cases landing 15-20 feet away but both foreward and back in a 90 degree fan shape. best group was with the XM-193 @ 2.5". PMC came in second @ 3". My verision is the original model but I replaced the fishgill handgaurds with a set of classic's. I'm going to upgrade the sights with the dioper style SOON. The Sig holo sight seemed a little cheesey but worked as needed. I didn't put

striker 12/streetsweeper, spas 12, saiga 12, or the benelli series
SSBiggun replied to GunRunna47's topic in Saiga-12
Dude, how can you still own firearms after that. Was it justifiable ? -
Even before I got my Gunfxr plug from Mike D. I also ordered the KA pisto and last tuesday on my first outing with that combination I had the most exellent results. I had ammo ranging from Win 7 1/2 target and Fed 8 target to Kent mid brass 6 and Rem 4 heavy game high brass , Fed 00 buck Rem managed recoul slug and full house slug. Wolf slug and 00 buck. and Win plated #4 buck. I just had to find the setting for each 1 as I shot them and once on that setting they ran 100%.

"Thinking of getting a brake for my Saiga 12." Brake SMake I want a gas pedal.

We had a 3 gun sat 21st and I wanted to and had a chance to smoke a 16rd course and much to,my dismay my drum or should I say my Saiga didnt run :-( FTE every round Kent mid brass 6 shot 3 dram later I put it on gas setting 2 and while using REM 4 shot high brass 3 3/4 dram it did function but still had a couple of fte's. When I got home and cleaned it 3 of the 4 ports were blocked with crud either partially of completly. I had just 3 days previous ran a full 20 of this Kent through it with ZERO malf's.

I also had this problem with the rt leg and just followed the forum instructions in the same forum as you. Now I'm working on slicking up the action and trigger.
