  1. Go to Bulletproofme.com There you can buy old body armor for testing for $25 per panel (pre 1989 NIJ Standards) I bought some and shot it, it was pretty neat. Stopped a Hornady 00 Buck, 40 cal FMJ, 40 Cal Winchester Ranger hollowpoint, but the 2 3/4 1 ounce slug punched straight through. The other rounds barely penetrated 3 sheets, but that slug. I have a new respect for slugs. Sure was fun doing a somewhat scientific test instead of just shooting cans.
  2. Easy! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ANOTHER SAIGA 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (SO YOUR SISTER CAN WATCH YOUR BACK)
  3. I'm looking for a factory forend for a .308. Let me know, thanks.
  4. Ive had some trouble putting my gunfixer nob in. I took out my stock gas plug, and went to screw in the new one however it just wont thread in. I just put the damn thing in my desk drawer and figured id wait until someone else had the same problem on this forum but apparently not yet. I tried rotating it and screwing it in from a different position so the threads could meet but too no avail.....
  5. Im just glad we have you cobra to keep us all from having issues in the future. You have enough knowledge to keep my ass in line! Keep up the good work! Thanks, Tony Cobra, you have the Russian magwell installed--are you saying that it won't work with modified Surefire mags, for example--only with the Russian mags? I want the LRBHO, but I also want a magwell that will work with my mags. Well then you might want to wait some more because that's EXACTLY what I'm saying.
  6. I feel the real issue is that people get all their goodies, and then lets say a possible "ban" does come around. The consensus of everyone's mindset is going to be "Well I got what I wanted" and they will keep quite about it. What we have to do is oppose any sort of infringement on our 2nd Amendment, not just buy our stuff and bite our teeth... Apart from that, enough magazines, ammo and best a reloader to make that ammo. Self sufficient, who wants to rely on Bimart when SHTF...??!!
  7. JT, A few posts back you talked about an extended mag release changeout you were making that would not be too heavy to disrupt the guns inertia. I was wondering what your status was on that. The magwell works great, Ive used it and it was definitely worth it, Thanks, Tony
  8. I used a cloth like white dremel head bit and went down to napa auto parts and bought some water based polishing compound. Had directions from an old timer on polishing. Dip the dremel head in the polishing compound (a bit sandy and silvery looking) and run it smoothly in a forward and backward motion ( dont do circles polish it the same forwards and backwards) your parts will eventually get slick and chrome looking and racking the bolt will feel like hot butter instead of clunky metal. There is another post that has pics on what specific spots to polish. Enjoy! Mines run solid s
  9. Yeah I was planning on making my own mag release extension, All you really need is a 1/2" wide piece of metal you can bend then just drill a hole and put a pop rivet in there. Now all I need is a 12G reloader.......
  10. I installed my Magwell today, at first I was a little skeptical but man oh man does it work great. Modding the mags went pretty quick. I'll post some pics when I get back to my home. Video
  11. You could give Jesse over at 762 LLC a call, Im pretty sure he may be taking orders. His info is on his website. He converted my Saiga 12- 503-939-4162 http://www.762llc.com/
  12. My Condolences.... Something we all need to do, write down all serial numbers of your guns, + make and model and keep it in a safe place. If something like this happens again then you report the weapons stolen to the police and you will get them back eventually. I had a friend who also had some weapons stolen from his trunk but did not get them returned by the police because he could not show proof that he had actually owned it! Hang in their friend, think of it his way, would you rather have had your girlfriend get in a terrible car accident? Or lose your Saiga, I think y
