  1. 9x25 actually has a few problems.....not quite as bad as it used to be though. Prior to the .357 Sig coming out, all the 9mm bullets had very long front-ends so you would end up exceeded the OAL length limit of the magazine when using the 9x25. So....you were stuck with shooting only the very lightest 9mm bullets, because they were the only ones short enough to fit in the magazine. It was REALLY fucked up, and pretty much a bad idea until the new, short bullets came out for the Sig. Couple that with the fact that Dillon made the early 9x25 Dillon dies wrong, just made the whole thing a
  2. Were you shooting bench rest groups with that donkey dick mag hanging out the bottom of the gun? You would do much better with a short mag, on some real bags, down low on the bench. Tony
  3. My Serbu is the semi-auto. They run nearly $7,000. Their single shot is a nice rifle as well, albeit a bit on the ugly side. Tony
  4. Unique has big ass flat flakes that don't meter well. For your .357, you should be using something like H110 or 296 anyway. They will meter much more consistently and give you better velocity than Unique.
  5. We're pretty close to on schedule for most builds. There has been a shortage of parts, but I boosted my stock levels to minmize the impact. However, right now, the rear XS HK ghost ring sights are completely unavailable and I have finally exhausted my stock. It looks like we may have to go back to using standard G3 rear diopter sights for awhile. Tony
  6. It's a lot easier and safer to modify the carrier than to modify the fixed ejector. If you screw up that ejector, you're going to need a good Tig man to fix it for you.
  7. It's not a common problem, but it does occurr with some guns. Maybe one in fifty. Just make the slot in the bolt carrier a bit wider and you'll be good to go. Tony
  8. No. But it is much faster and easier to tumble the lube off than to wipe down each round by hand. But maybe you're into hand jobs..........
  9. I have polished over 65,000 rounds of 5.56 reloads in a Dillon vibrator without any issues. Tony
  10. I'm not a big fan of full length underlug barrels on a little caliber like .357. It just makes an otherwise nimble gun, into a clunker with barrels over 4". I prefer a Smith 66 or Ruger Security Six. Tony
  11. I'm not going to give you an opinion, but I will share my experience. Back in the "ban" days, I made a pile of AR uppers with permamently affixed brakes. These uppers all had .936" Stainless Pac-Nor bull barrels on them with the muzzle threaded. The brake was installed, then a V-groove was machined at the joint, and they were welded 360 degrees and blended out. The two most serious problems with using this process are barrel warpage and bore choking. I am not going to share my technique(s) to pull this off, since Tromix "stuff" seems to be ripped off with wreckless abandon these days.
  12. I have these in stock, $5. I don't believe the Tromix distributors will be carrying this product line, so you will have to contact me directly via e-mail at Rumore@Tromix.com Tony Rumore Tromix
  13. I would check the surface of the breechface in the slide. If it's not smooth, the case head will not be able to slide upward across the surface as it is feeding, and you will get a stoppage just like that. It may appear smooth to the naked eye, but take a flat piece of steel, wrap a piece of 600 grit sand paper around it, and slide it across the breechface surface a few strokes. Any tooling chatter will show up immediately. It could also be the feed lips on the magazine are holding the case head down for too long as the case slides out, but these days, the magazine manufacturers are doi
  14. If that was done to permanantly affix your brake for a legal OAL, that is not kosher per ATF. The weld would have to cover at least 1/2 the circumference of the brake. When the local Indiana ATF office approved RAA making welds like that on the 17" guns, that was not compliant with the previous ATF ruling on the issue. Tony
  15. I would guess that most, if not all "AR-15 guys" already have a huge fucking shit pile of ammo already, and are not paying anything. Tony
  16. Here are two Winchester SXT 45acp bullets recovered from a small 150 pound sow. There was almost no expansion and no penetration. That's pretty hard to achieve.
  17. The hammers are a bit different, but I don't believe it is a problem to use the OEM hammer with the Tapco trigger. We will add a note to the Tromix website to clarify that the FCG is a modified Tapco unit. We certainly were not trying to mislead anyone. Tony
  18. We take a Tapco FCG and modify it so it will work in an S-12. We also add a Tromix shepherds crook and disconector which does not come with a standard Tapco FCG. Tony
  19. Where does the dot line up compared to the top of the front sight post? Tony
  20. Maybe I misunderstood the issue, but I thought the gun was actually hitting point-of-aim with the rear sight position only being a couple clicks off center. That rear sight position is fine. So if that is the case, if you knock the front sight back to top-dead-center, it will no longer hit point-of-aim and you'll have to move your rear sight way off to one side to "hopefully" get it on target. Those retainment pins in the front sight tower don't hold the sight perfectly straight every time, and will allow for some rotation if you hit the tower with a large dead blow hammer. I would sus
  21. I would check for a piece of debri caught between the barrel extension and where it mates up to the upper receiver. If the barrel was inadvertantly installed with debri in the seam, it will cock the barrel very slightly. That's a pretty easy fix. Just remove the barrel, clean the mating surfaces of the barrel extension and lower receiver, and you're good to go. A more serious issue would be if there is debri trapped between the barrel extension and the shoulder on the barrel itself. Tony
  22. The bolt-on charging handle and the rifle shark brake. I noted it on the Tromix website under each of those parts.
  23. If you want to go cheap and buy counterfeit Chinese knockoff parts, do at your own risk......but please don't embarrass yourself by coming to me with a warranty claim. Tony Rumore Tromix
  24. I just tried to run down the ruling, and I found the one regarding marking NFA items, in 27 CFR 479.63. In part........ ......alpha characters, e.g. a name, will not be accepted as a serial number. If a name is to be used, there must be at least one numeric character in addition to the alpha characters.......... I imagine it's the same for Title 1 guns, but I've been wrong before. Tony
  25. I don't believe that is a legal serial NUMBER. ATF ruled awhile back that it must contain at least one numerical digit. I'll see if I can find the ruling and post it up. The "I" should be a "1". Tony
