  1. It helps substantially if you are left eye dominant, but right handed. That way, you can fire the gun left handed and can strong-arm in your mags. It's much more difficult for most guys to insert the mags with their weak hand.
  2. Yes. We have shit loads of Tromix disconectors collecting dust because we can't come up with a supply of AR triggers anymore. They were always sold as a set, but in light of the current AR-15 parts shortage, it looks like we will be forced to sell just the disco, and let the customer try and chase down a trigger. The Tromix disco will not work with the OEM trigger....it only works with a standard AR-15 trigger. Tony Rumore Tromix
  3. Pre-panic pricing, there's not much savings to be had reloading plinking ammo in standard calibers, especially 12 and 20 gauge shotshells. However, when you get into the less popular cartridges like .458 SOCOM, 10 gauge, 440 Corbon Magnum, 450 Nitro Express and stuff like that, the savings are HUGE. Kynoch 450 Nitro Express loaded with common Woodleigh bullets is $16 a shot (not box) plus freight. 10rd limit on purchasing at Midway. That's over $300 bucks for a box of 20. You can pay for all your reloading gear with the first box of shells you shoot! Tony
  4. I have a mint Pioneer SX-1010 and some other goodies as far as vintage equipment goes, but I keep that stuff at the house.....if you really want to pound out some tunes, those old amps don't really put out. For the Tromix shop, I use a pair of QSC amps running 725wpc, both channels driven at an 8ohm load and another identical unit at 500wpc. For a "shop radio", the setup is substantial. Tony
  5. The truth is, we don't know. I don't have any plans to step and buy $25,000 worth of high brass ammo to test it, for a part that we make $5 bucks on. The spring is only 10% lighter than the stock one, so I kinda doubt the gun would be just fine with the stock spring and get beat to hell with the light spring.....but I have been wrong before. There has been no reported damage to the guns to date, and our limited testing has not shown any problems......but sure as shit, if I tell someone to run it with high brass, they will use their gun as a rental at a public range and tear it up. So
  6. Just an FYI, Olympic Arms was THE pioneer in the development of the AR-15 aftermarket. Back in the 80's, you didn't have many choices for parts and guns. It was basically Olympic or Colt. Colt had a couple of .223 models and that was it. Olympic introduced the flat-top upper receiver, not Colt. They came out with the 7.62x39, not Colt. They came out with the free float tube hand guard, not Colt. They introduced the 6mm PPC, 9mm, 40 SW, 10mm, 45ACP, 30 Carbine, OA93 buffer tubeless pistol/carbine.....and the list goes on and on. They produced the first AR's that I can remember that shot
  7. How can the holes not line up if you're telling us the thing was installed correctly previously? Do you think they removed the guide, then welded up the old hole, redrilled it, retapped it, then turned the guide around backwards and reinstalled it? Man....that's quite a stretch. And...in your first post you state that you bought the gun new from the dealer, so it would not have come with any bullet guide installed.....then you say they took out the imaginary non-existent bullet guide and turned it around. Let's try another story, shall we? You bought a NIB gun and had them conv
  8. I'll bet the cartridge guide was too thick to slide under the barrel, so they turned it around.
  9. I don't recall seeing the MAK-90's until around 1992. They were $169.00 and considered the worst piece of shit AK money could buy (at that time). There were wood crates full of them at guns shows.....20 guns per crate. Tony
  10. What's most entertaining is when someone (Chinese) rips off one of your parts that doesn't sell worth a shit and doesn't make any money anyway. Just knowing they ran off several thousand to collect dust brings a smile to my face. Tony Rumore Tromix
  11. Check with Vito at Only the Best Firearms. He usually has them in stock. Tony
  12. I am having a blown bike motor built right now that will run E85. When you're running a bunch of boost, E85 is cheaper and easier to get than buying 110 octane ras gas.....but in a regular car, I would rather have no alcohol in it, not to mention in a 2-stroke. Tony
  13. We don't make the poly stocks. They are made by Lage Manufacturing. Its no secret. I don't typically rip every stock out of its sealed plastic bag to inspect it. Maybe I should. Tony
  14. They work fine. But they are heavy, bulky and a pain to get your forward arm around it unless you have a vertical grip. In semi-auto, I don't know why anyone would want the thing. I would rather have a 20 round stick mag for a semi-auto. There are actually for a full auto squad automatic RPK. If you have one of those, I would get a few drums for it. If not, its a bit gay hanging off a semi auto. Tony
  15. Before you cut the barrel, shoot me an E-Mail at Rumore@Tromix.com I may be able to swap you out for a barrel that has already been cut.....and I need that original barrel. Tony Rumore Tromix
  16. Hmmm......XN, like Eksen Arms?
  17. The reason the inventory ran dry, was because we worked day and night converting every single Saiga-12 in the shop, into an AW configuration and used all the stocks in house. If an AW happens, it will not be legal to convert your gun after the fact. Now that we have every gun in an AW configuration, newly arriving inventory will be shipped to the distributors for aftermarket sales. Can you imagine, the wrath of fucking shit I would be taking, if a customer's gun was in our shop and not converted when an AW ban went down? That is why we used all the stocks in-house. Tony P.S.
  18. I have certainly had my fair share of issues with Pro Mag magazines, but their S-12 drums run great. Hopefully the guy that designed the S-12 drums, did these mags as well. Tony
  19. Its banned by its features alone. It doesn't have to be on the list All semi auto shotguns that have pistol grips or detachable magazines would be banned. The AKDAL has both. Tony
  20. I don't do anything important anymore, but I used work for American Airlines (Eagle). When I was 24, I was Director of Materials and ran the west coast purchasing and spare parts operation with a 50 man crew in three cities on a 24/7 shift. We supported 50 aircraft running around California. My crews were in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Luis Obispo. Later (age 26) I worked for Fairchild Aircraft and did the same thing, but we had 100 aircraft flying in 12 countries. My last job was for an Aerospace firm (Director of Operations) making aircraft windows where I got fired for do
  21. Even at 14", with the gas ports enlarged, my particular test gun would not cycle light birdshot. I'm not saying it's not possible to get one to run low powered ammo, but in my limited testing, it did not look good. Tony
  22. I have done a couple. Its such a huge pain in the ass, do yourself a favor and just buy a complete receiver. Tony
  23. When you get the gun, if you e-mail me the Serial Number, I can give you a few more specifics on that particular gun. From a gunsmithing perspective, the most difficult part of one of those, is filling in the huge crater remaining after removing the OEM rear sight blade. When you get it, you will find that it looks competely "factory" in that location, even though it has a formed piece of steel welded in and blended out to make it look nice and clean. Most everyone that sees it, simply overlooks it.....because it looks like it is part of the factory build. Tony
  24. Wow......I haven't seen one of those in a long time. There were 35 .308's shipped in total, spanning from January 13, 2006 to October 18, 2010. The first .308 was an SBR shipped on 1/13/06. The first title one gun was shipped 1/16/06. There were a total of four 7" barreled fire-breathing .308 SBR's built, all the rest were title 1 guns. 3 remain in my personal collection. Tony Rumore Tromix
