  1. Nice, are you going to make an NY legal version? It could only be a muzzle-break and it would have to be attached permanently to the threads, but I'd buy one.
  2. Bulgarian, no question about it.
  3. http://www.cdnninvestments.com/eaamags.html 10 rounders for $20, I ordered from there, the service was superb and my order came with a pair of free shooting / safety glasses. I dropped $95 (that is AFTER S&H) for four 10 rounders, which is harsh but I think it is worth it. Now I just need to order 5 more mags sometime soon and I'll have 10 10 rounders. I need to nab a 5 rounder to legally hunt with my Saiga, but since hunting season isn't any time soon, that can wait. Also, aside from when Classic Arms was selling them for $15 (which lasted about a day before he bumped them up to $
  4. They did not make more Mosins, they made SKS rifles in the interim.
  5. I live in NY and I have carried firearms openly down the street, cops and DEC passed me by. Everyone stares, though :-/
  6. DO NOT FORCE IT. Wiggle the tube around as you push down on the lever with JUST YOUR THUMB. It will go down when the gas tube is in the proper postition for the lever to rock down and lock the tube in place.
  7. The rifle must also have a fixed stock and no other "evil" features.
  8. That looks nice. I want to convert mine, but I don't have any skill and if I screw up, I'll ruin a gun I really can't afford to ruin :-P
  9. http://riflestocks.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=93_106 All of the stocks on that page are 100% drop-in replacements for the Saiga rifle, no modification is required to the receiver or stock to use on any Saiga rifle. Also, another option is to use the FCG (I think it is 3 922r parts) and replace the gas piston with a US made one (Dinzag does it). You can also use the Saiga Galil-style handguard to get a drop-in 922r part as well.
  10. Yes, all New-In-Box Saiga rifles come with the following : -1 magazine (10 rounds for .223 / 7.62x39, 8 rounds for .308, 5 for the shotguns, as far as I know) -1 cleaning rod -1 oiler bottle -1 cleaning kit tools (screwdriver, brush, jag, gas port cleaning tool, maybe something else) -1 Cetificate of Approval -1 Saiga manual
  11. I'm in CA and having one of my Saiga 922R compliant, this is what I'm having done: USA made bullet guide USA piston USA hammer USA disconnector USA mag follower (I have old mags from the 1980s I want to use) Does a US made muzzle brake classified as a US part (welded to the gun ofcoarse)? Bullet guide isn't a 992® part. The bullet guide, even if it was made in the US, will not change the 922® part count.
  12. Saiga 7.62x39 with its Brother in Arms, a 1927 (double-dated, NO MO marking, mean it's extra rare) dated M91/30 from Izhevsk. I just got the gear from Centerfire Systems today. The small bag holds EVERYTHING I need to clean / take down my Mosin and Saiga rifles except for a cleaning rod, and I can store ammo in the other magazine pocket. The East German AK 75 round drum pouch holds all 5 of my Saiga 10 round mags stacked (and looks like it could fit two more stacked and a couple more stuffed down the sides). It also fits 2 Hi-Point 995 magazines in the little side-pouch. The AK bayonet is
  13. The YT video is ok, you can use it as a rough reference, but he does a lot of stuff off-camera and that's annoying. A proper video, with proper lighting and recording equipment to capture the process, would be leaps and bounds ahead of the YT vids. Ideally, the maker of the DVD would be a person who has done at least 3 or 4 conversions across the spectrum (.223, 7.62x39, 12, etc) and would cover several methods to go about certain steps. They could start with the drill / dremel and hand-tools method and work their way up to more advanced stuff like welding on the trigger guard and using a dril
  14. How did you get a Saiga in California, they are banned by name.
  15. Ok, thanks for the info. I guess it wouldn't be too bad if I didn't have to re-zero it all the time.
  16. I want to be able to put a red dot and a laser on my rifle but still use the iron sights while the thing is mounted. Since I am in NY, I can't have the laser on it while hunting, which is why I'm not going for a red-dot / laser combo, thus this mount appeals to me. http://www.centerfiresystems.com/MNTAKA14.aspx Can I still use the iron sights or do I need a different mount?
  17. http://www.classicarms.us has Saiga 7.62x39 magazines for $16. http://www.cdnninvestments.com/eaamags.html has them for $20.
