In PA, a concealed permit does not specify what type of "weapon" can be concealed....so I would guess a long arm would be fine. However, I can draw my handgun in less than a second....how long does it take to get the AK out of the bag an ready 4 action?. P.S. Yea, I buy from Cabelas and pay the sales tax (6%) here in PA. Paying the tax beats paying the shipping in most cases. If you can order from CTD for 4 bucks a box now, aint that worth 9%? I use a 30, it aint to big, I am sure a 40 would be fine....and quicker.

I get easy3-4" groups at 50 & 75yds with Wolf fmj with a 3moa red dot. 100yds....I don't even try (my eyes suck!) 7.62x39 aint known for being a great long range round, to big and slow.

The longer barrel generally just improves the sight picture, which increases accuracy with iron sights. FPS will drop a bit on the 16", and muzzle flash will decrease on the longer barrels. It's all a matter of preference. I like 'em short n light (women and firearms).

Ishmash has more than enough production capability to handle the civilian and military markets. It is buisness, and it started with the 30 round 7.62mags, EAA found out it was not legal, Ishmash got mad, they had words, EAA was left in a bad spot., and no Saigas. Canoot blame 'em myself, at least they are still in buisness and employing people and not in prison. I just do what I always did when I wanted high capacity, I buy more mags....whatever they hold. If ya need more than 2 rounds your gonna lose anyhow :-)
