  1. It's 7.62. I went at it again with the teflon grease, in larger amounts this time. It seems to work fine just pushing it down with my finger now, but not silky smooth by any stretch. We'll see how it works at the range, I guess.
  2. No results came up when I searched. Is it a common problem for Tapco magazines to stick? If I push the follower down, it will usually stop coming back an inch or two from the top. I have to bang it on something to un-stick it. I've tried CLP, I've tried Teflon grease, still gums up. Is there a particular surface that could be sanded down or something to help? I know I should have gone with combloc metal in the first place, but this investment is long sunk.
  3. I agree. What's wrong with versatility? The rifle looks pretty spiffy too, FWIW.
  4. Ugh...now I remember the 'gang' nonsense that went on at my middle school. None of our clothes could have any logos or markings on it. The logic being that if none of our clothes had any identifying marks, none of us could wear the same identifying marks and thus begin forming Nike gangs or American Eagle gangs. Of course we retaliated by forming the "Plain White Polo Shirt Gang".
  5. See? I knew I wasn't the only one who likes guns that bling like a street hustler on the 1st or 15th.
  6. 1) This was the very first thing I thought of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvj6zdWLUuk 2) Holy crap, you're younger even than me. 3) I was largely unaffected on that day, partly because of blinding self-interest and partly because there was no way I could comprehend at the time what it all meant. 4) A good friend of mine is also AF Security Forces. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.
  7. I'm not denying bows can be lethal, of course. Just look at what Rambo can do with one. All I'm saying is, if I have the choice of a semi-automatic firearm or a bow, I'm choosing gun. Why pay an extra few hundred dollars to convert a gun to a bow, unless you're bloody rich and have overflowing pockets?
  8. Know why nobody uses bows anymore? Someone invented guns. My .02 Then again, I have a nice functional sword sitting next to my guns, so maybe I'm a hypocrite too.
  9. Try the search button... http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/search/songs/?query=skillet Yakdung See above. ^^^
  10. I couldn't think of anything to search for that I don't already have, so I hit the Popular Today button...scrolling down the list I see Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Lil' Wayne, Britney Spears, Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, and Lada Gaga and Black Eyed Peas again. I am again reminded that the general public has AWFUL taste in music. Skillet is somewhere down the list though, so there is some hope. Thanks for the link, yak!
  11. I can't even remember the last time I read/watched a news story about someone being arrested and they actually told us what the charges were. This pisses me off to no end. Pages of comments will be posted about why the police were wrong, or why the guy should be executed and we don't even know why they were arrested in the first place.
  12. Band of Brothers for WWII realism and historical accuracy somehow miraculously blended with compelling, heart-wrenching drama. Patton for WWII flag waving, testosterone boosting heaping globs of "America, FUCK YEAH." Patton was the quintessential warrior, he knew it, and he didn't give a rat's ass who thought less of him for it and I think that's completely awesome.
  13. Most of the ones around here aren't even trying; I see them cleanly shaved wearing alligator shirts or some such yuppie shit even nicer than the rags I wear. My favorite ones are the guys who have a sign that simply says "unemployed veteran" or something to that effect. It takes some willpower on my part not to roll down my window and yell "Hey, ME TOO!"
  14. You know, I was thinking about that. I figured if I was going to drop the dough to get the tri rail, might as well try to vent the handguard and if it turns out horrible I have the new handguard. Now difficult is that by the way? Not very hard at all. If you run a search, you can probably find a write-up or two about it. The hardest part is making everything clean and uniform looking.
