You forgot: Step 2.5. - "Break f**king tap off in the hole." & Step 2.6 - "Exclaim 'F**k it!' and use JB weld instead."

Siaga factory 10 rounder - 15 rounder maybe?
mzmtg replied to imarangemaster's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
I got started on this last night. So far, it's not feeding the last 3 of 15 rounds reliably (cycled by hand). But, I still need to reshape the last spring coil, although I left mine a bit longer than yours. I also need to smooth the cuts on the follower, there's still all kinds of burrs hanging off it. I'm sure that doesn't enhance reliability. -
Here's what happened when I used JB Weld to hold in my Dinzag bullet guide: A similar fate may await you...

I don't know about the thread dimensions, but they are RIGHT hand threads.

Today we went to Adairsville Sporting range in Adairsville, GA to wring out the rifles a bit. I took pics: On the rifle range, there are berms at 25, 50 and 100yds Hardware: My friend's recently converted Saiga: My Saiga: The view up range: A bad place to hide: JB weld did not do a very good job holding my bullet guide in place (it's properly installed now): Very strange jam on the 10/22: There are two kinds of muzzle blasts... The kind you can see: And the kind you can't (look at the expended brass in t

Oh sure, put your marriage ahead of our needs for 15-round magazines. That's fine, we see how it is -

Can you post pics of your modded follower, or tell us how much you trimmed it? -
I think that modding the rifle is the best way to go. That way you can use any AK mags you happen to find. Just grind down the front edge of your factory Saiga mag so it will fit with the bullet guide. It's helpful to have a 10-rounder when shooting from a bench rest.
