  1. This forum has been a real god send for me since '08. I don't post much (usually questions), but I like guns that actually work. Assembly was not supported by email or phone but we got it together (most of the way) despite any real customer support. I was reluctant to cut off the shoulder stock tangs so I made a spacer from 2 x 4 wood. The kit did not effect my well tuned Saiga 12 but I could not hit a damned thing looking over the rear sight (now hidden) and at the front post. It was like 6' high at only 10 yards. If you are gonna commit your gun to this thing and cut the tangs - you
  2. unclejakeNo. My issues are with current S-12. I also have an oild .410 maybe a "shotty." If I try to use your "fix," how does that play out?
  3. I waited a long time to see this thing actually happen and followed with the almost monthly updates. If successful; I wanted to be a reseller. Finally got it (series V) - $297 shipped to my door. The product arrived with a very vague assembly manual, parts missing and no explanation as to how to complete and fine tune the product. No phone support. I wouldn't have their address if it weren't for the UPS label that wanted to fall off. emailed a list of issues and questions. email response was slow and very vague. Five of seven questions were not even addressed. This was supposed to be a kit
  4. I run my gun in 3 gun competition every month and it runs great. With the info I gathered from these forums and other Saiga shooters; I think my gun is tuned well! Occasionally I run into an issue of "replacement parts." Last time it was a simple Magazine catch pin (and spring) lost on the fields somewhere. One of our Moderators made me a new pin and even a slave pin. It's good to have friends in Saiga places :-) This time it's the little dust cover that sits half way down the recoil springs. The gun ran fine, as usual; but when I took off the top cover to clean it - the little piece j
  5. Yeah. I guess the Bolt Hold Open is at the top of that smooth, deep slot behind it. If I could see a review by someone (admin) here that we could all trust; I would dive in ad be a reseller! They sure look cool! You just have to relearn the mag changes and get used to a much lighter front end. The Muzzle-Lite kits work very much the same. They have been called cheap and cheezy but they work reliably. I've been selling them for 12 years and the only complaint has been "spongy" trigger. My 2¢

    FTE Saiga 12

After trying different forward springs I started to get full ejection again but now the hammer follows the bolt [or doesn't cock]. I'm dreading machine shop work on the gas block but if I can't figure out another approach ........
  7. For Rifle ammo I've had good luck with ammoman.com . Lately everything is sold B4 it goes up on the web site so it always looks "sold out." You have to get on the mailing list for whatever ammo you want.
  8. Can you still use the iron sights/UTG? If so, do you have a link to the "one."
  9. I have seen tri rails, dual rails and "low rails." So far I have not seen anything in images here or links to suppliers that clearly shows a red dot ABOVE the iron sights - enough to use both. The advertising images of quartering and side veiws of mounted scopes don't show a true "sight picture." Now that I have a nice fiber optic there; I'd like to use if if my battery dies. Can anybody offer any more info/images?
  10. I just put a fiber optic front sight on my S-12 so I want a small rail for a red dot to sit high enough over the dust cover to still use the sights. I'm thinkin that if there's enough room to get the cover off I can prolly see the iron sights under it but a lot of mounts are claiming to be low. The pics never show a sight picture (from behind the sights) Anybody got any input here.
  11. Link is working now. If you let it roll it runs into several other good U-Tube videos including William Shatner shooting down a mugger. That's way better than his PriceLine commercials ! Yeah. Most of us have seen it before. Last time I saw it I saw the full version including Mandatory Registration followed by bans and voluntary surrender. Followed, of course, by raids to recover unsurrenderred weapons. Unfortunately it has been shown in all of our venues but none of the venues that our tree hugging Liberals see. Somehow we have to get them to see "our side of the 2nd amendment." The
  12. Welcome! There is a lot of stuff on this site and the other Saiga 12site. I'm new to the weapon too. Been at it for about six months. One thread I always go back to is: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=20234 There are linx in it to other threads with even more pix and explanations. My gun will eat everything so far but seems to like Winchester #7 field loads for competition. Great gun! You will not be disappointed.
  13. "No shorter than 16" barrel on rifles" "No shorter than 18" barrel on Shotguns" and "Long guns (both) No shorter than 26" with stock fully extended" is the Federal (BATF) guideline. I sell a hell of a lot of Bull-Pup kits coast to coast without any issues. Since Bull-Pups are not "foldable" they are what they are. A 10/22 with a 18 1/2" barrel = 27 1/4" overall length. It's inside the limit but you would prolly have an issue if you put a 16 1/2" barrel on it because the overall would then be 25 1/2". It might get dismissed in court but I would advise to not be the "test case." Shotguns
