Changed out all Saiga furniture. Before picture all Tapco polymer. After picture Kvar handguard and Tiger Imports Stock on Saiga .308 All other Furniture changed to new TimberSmith from Tapco. Stocks are about 5/8" longer than Warsaw stocks and not as long as Nato. TimberSmith fit and finish is excellent....well worth the $$$ Before: After:

imarangemaster....thanks for the info. I was going to do my own, but just found modified lower handguard retainers on Carolina shooter supply for $29.95 and installed three of them. It's a piece of cake if you have the barrel grooves. I had to cut grooves in one 7.62 x 39 barrel with a dremel grinding wheel. The .223 and 5.45 x 39 already came with barrel grooves. I've tried various handguards, but like the K-Var the best so far. Looking for a wood set of furniture, possibly from Ironwood Designs since they are in my neck of the woods.

Just did the Mod. and had to cut off 2 coils to eliminate binding and everything rounds 10 feed great...thanks Side Note: My Surefire 10 rounders did not fit Mag. well without filing off .040 at rear of mag contact area. Now they snap right in.

My .308 Conversion. Tapco/Tromix Trigger...very nice vs. original and bolt hold open drops right in. BTW...Welded/riveted trigger guard removal is a bitch compared to .223, 7.62, & 5.45 that are only riveted. Going to try Choate Dragunov stock although I really like the cheek weld with the Tapco collapsable. Will update as it evolves. BTW...Carolina Shooters is quick with their shipping and service and it was one stop shopping for Saiga.

I am new to the forum and want to thank everyone for the help. My Saiga 5.45 x 39 conversion is below. All parts from Carolina Shooter Supply. New Tromix/Tapco Trigger is awesome plus bolt hold open works. My .223, 7.62 x 39, and .308 are next on the bench. 5.45 x 39 before conversion at top of photo below.
