  1. FWIW I left 10 rounds of winchester 00 buck (grey box, 2 3/4 length) loaded in an AGP mag for about 7 months and when I finally decided to rotate them out, none would feed. The ends had been deformed by the pressure of the shell above them and would not chamber unless I forced the bolt closed. That same mag fed some new winchester out of the box just fine so I know its not the mag. My factory 5 round and 8 round surefire do not do appear to deform the shells like the AGP. I think the 10 round spring might put a little too much pressure on the rounds and cause them to deform over time. If
  2. It doesnt work worth a damn in my gun either. I think the funky crimps are to blame.

FWIW, this stuff doesnt cycle worth a damn in my saiga 12 or any autoloader I own (SBE 2, 11-87). Its got plenty of power but the end crimps are horrible. However, it works ok in a 870 pump. I wont be buying anymore of it though. Its a neat concept and it makes some killer patterns in plywood, but it is totally unreliable. YMMV
  4. You might want to try something other than the centurion ammo as well. That stuff, while a neat concept, will not function in any of my autos (saiga, benelli SBE II) The crimp on them looks like hell and is totally out of round. For $1 a round I expected more. They run fine out of a 870 pump though. Try some remington value pack buckshot from wally word or maybe some winchester 00 buck. Hope this helps!
  5. Gunfixr is a busy man these days. It took him about a month to get my pins made. He has had several unforseen events pop up in the past few months and I know he will get them to you as soon as he can. I talked to the man on the phone and he was a stand up fellow. I know how you feel when you say you are fustrated about the lack of parts. It seems there is a market out there for those hard to find parts. That is the downfall of using a platform that is made in a former eastern block nation. I think you hit the nail on the head when you started stockpiling spare parts. Although most part
  6. I believe Pipesfa65 used one until he got his replacement from Gunfixr. Actually I used a nail but I would think a drill rod would work just as well. It just needs some sort of "head" on it to retain the spring. I put over 200 rounds thru my Saiga with that nail in it. I tried the nail until Gunfixr could made me a couple spare pins. I really just wanted to see if the nail would work or not after someone mentioned trying to use one. After 200 rounds the nail showed little, if any, deformation. I now have my gunfixr pins in the gun but I saved that nail. The pins he made me are to
  7. I gotta agree with you. I placed an order friday morning about 7 AM and the postman dropped it off Saturday about 10 AM. It was alittle over 24 hours turn around total. Name me one other retailer that can top that?
  8. I decided yesterday morning to try out a surefire 8 round mag for my Saiga 12 since I have all the others in my collection( except for the russian 8). I decided I would give C.S.S. a try since I have read good things about them here. Well I wasnt expecting my mag until next week so imagine my suprise when my postman knocks on the door this morning. I figured it was somthing for the wife until I looked at the label. I now have an 8 round saiga 12 mag in my possession. Turn around time was just over 24 hours. I am in NC so it not too far from SC but still I am very impressed. That is real
  9. I can't help you with the slugs but I can say that a Saiga 12 plus win 3 inch 00 buck = deal deer within 40 yars or so. I shot one while doing some man drives last year and the saiga worked fine. It gets lot of second looks from others who are unfamilier with the platform as well. I would recommend using the factory 5 round if your state does not limit the mag capacity of a shotty because the AGP's are kind hard to use in thickets etc. YMMV.
  10. I actually made a temporary striker pin out of a nail I found in a picture hanging kit I had laying around. I dremeled it to the proper length and I am happy to report that it does indeed work just fine. Gotta love the AK design! I doubt I could do that with my Benelli SBE 2. I am not exactly sure what size it was but it was an exact fit for the hole in the bolt face and the head held the spring in place. I ran a few rounds thru the gun to see if it would work and it ran just fine. The primer strikes were identical to the factory striker as well (good thing I didnt clean up all my spent s
  11. Danimal3805, I had the same thing happen to mine two weeks ago. I am having gunfixr make me a couple of strikers to repair it. Nobody seems to have that part in stock and the importer didnt know when it would be available. CGW offered to have me ship my entire gun to them but I also felt that that was unnessary for such a simple repair. Why they couldnt just mail one out I do not know. I would gladly pay a reasonable price for a replacement. Anyway, I would PM gunfixr and talk to him about making you a couple of spares. His price was reasonable and he appears to be the only one who
  12. Sounds like a good start. I would purchase a package with all these parts if available. You never know when somthing might break. I might would add a front site post for those of us who still run the factory set up. That post could be easily lost and I dont think tru glow makes a Saiga 12 model yet.
  13. Time for an update. RAA and Saigastock do not appear to have spare firing pins at this time but they said they would have them in the near future. In the mean time I am going to have gunfixr make me two of them so I will have a spare ready to go if needed.. I have his gas plug and I feel that his pin will be more than equal to the factory part. Price wasnt bad either! Now I have to go run to the post office and put something in the mail.
  14. Here is a poor picture of the broken part. I will get better ones today!
