  1. i know this is probably a stupid question but if i use the surefire mag with the bolt hold open do i need any other parts on a factory saigs to achieve the bolt hold open or is this total BS?? thanks
  2. i guess i am just gonna get the one from brian over at dinzag
  3. Saw an NcStar pin on muzzle brake. will this work with the saiga 7.62 rifles?? will you need to modify anything??
  4. thanks for the replies guys, i contacted brian over at dinzag. he is going to set me up with what i am looking for. any suggestions on where i can get this thing permantly attached??
  5. Hey guys, just came across this and was wondering if it will work on the saiga. I am pretty sure it will. anyone have any experience with this?? http://www.combathunting.com/product.cgi?g...mp;product=6657 I was thinking if this is installed and then the pin is soldered or welded in place it would make in permanent. The only thing i have done to my saiga was put the tapco front handguard on it. it already came with the factory skeleton stock on it. will this violate the 922r compliance or make it illegial in NY because of the AWB?? I guess this would be considered an evil feature??
  6. do any of you guys that go to calverton on long island know if you can use this wolf ammo there??
  7. so the whole jacket on the wolf is a steel jacket?? i don't understand how if i shoot a hollow point wolf 7.62x39 round it can do damage to a plate.
  8. this is what i figured. i have a decent amount of this stuff and i got nervous at first. i will go there again and show them some documentation and see what they say. i want to get it in writing from wolf. just a quick question, why would the magnet stick to the actual bullet if that is not made of steel though??
  9. I recently went to an indoor range here in NY. I was told they had to check the ammo. I had a box of the cheap 7.62 wolf ammo. The indoor range i go to lets you shoot rifles indoors. They told me i could not use the wolf ammo because it is armor piercing!!! Is this true? They said it had a lead core and held a magnet to the tip of the bullet and it attracted it. They said this is how you can tell if the bullet is AP. They also told me i should not have been able to buy this. I explained i bought it at a local Dick's sporting goods store. What is going on here????
  10. awesome, thanks for clarifying for me. i thought it would be ok but just wanted to make sure. and an added bonus, i can still use all of my swahili parts. ha ha.. thanks again.
  11. it is the 7.62x39mm rifle. the outcome i would like to have would be to keep the galil tapco handguard and just add the saiga skeleton stock without any other modifications. I know i am not in violation of the NYS AWB but the whole 922r thing continues to confuse me. since it is legal to just change out the front handguard with the tapco, what is the difference if i add the saiga skeleton stock, don't some of the .308 rifles ship with those anyway? it is not a pistol grip right?? the definition of a pistol grip is something that is under the direct action of the rifle. even though this s
  12. Quick question, is this legal to do as far as 922r and the NYS AWB?? I am pretty sure it is for New York State AWB Can i change my front hand guard to the tapco galil and then put the saiga skeleton stock on the rifle without doing anything else??
  13. thanks guys, just wanna play by the rules and not get taken away in shiny bracelets at the range. i ordered the tapco handguard and will throw that on there. not sure if i want to do the full conversion. if anything i would keep this as is and get the 308 and do that i think. thanks again for the info.
  14. I have a totally stock 7.62. can i just take off the stock handguard and replace it with the tapco galil style?? will this make it "evil" or illegal in any way??
  15. got it off with no problem, had to just give it a good whack. didn't want to break anything. Anyone else know if it is illegal to modify the stock handguard?? is it illegal to add an aftermarket handguard or does that go with the whole compliance thing??
