  1. I have already had to counter the "But, Dad! Guns kill!" argument from my teenage daughter.
  2. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/03/22/marjory-stoneman-douglas-high-school-requiring-clear-backpacks-prevent-further-gun-violence/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+breitbart+%28Breitbart+News%29 The Florida high school where 17 people died after being shot in February is requiring its students to wear clear backpacks in hopes that the move will prevent further gun violence. Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert W. Runcie announced Wednesday in a letter to parents of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students that all pupils w
  3. I enjoy the feel of the 147gr. Remington loads I tried; lots of punch.
  4. I will, though it may take a week. My town needs a public range that's not a club.
  5. Much to the chagrin of the missus("So, you bought TWO new guns in three months?"), I went and adopted this little lady.
  6. I particularly like the term "semi-automatic assault weapons" being used prolifically in this document.
  7. Whatever. This guy obviously felt that now was the time to regurgitate the same old stuff being spouted off nowadays: If only one child could be saved by his cutting up an AR that, in over 30 years, had never killed anything living, then it would be worth destroying an innocent firearm; reciting statistics; ignoring the obvious law enforcement failures; blaming the AR-15 itself, and implying that that particular rifle was somehow the most lethal one in civilian hands(?); etc., etc. Sounded too much like a shill. Black Rifle Lives Matter. Edit: I should buy an AR and post it under #
  8. All fantastic information, much of which I hadn't considered. Thanks, guys! I'll let you know what I come up with.
  9. Looking to pick up a Liberty 30-gun capacity home safe from the local Gander for $700. Do any of the members have a Liberty? If so, how have they served you? Did you have to have it delivered by their(Liberty) preferred moving company? If so, were they fairly priced? Thanks!
  10. At first I thought to congratulate you on a career well worked, but then I saw the body of the post. Get well.
  11. Remi ds me of a young Muslim youth I knew from paintball years ago. He was sore about what he felt was the stereotyping of his ilk as violent people. I suggested that, in the interest of turning that impression around, perhaps the Quran should be reinterpreted into a more 'people-friendly' book, much in the way the New Testament attempted to dispel the more unsavory parts of the Old. His response? "I would rather die than change that book". I thanked him for dismissing his previous notion from my mind.
  12. Glad to hear you're safe on that, Chile. I also had an incident here in Janesville(WI) that nearly saw a deployment of my Judge while fishing the Rock River, and my eldest daughter sleeping in the Jeep next to me. Calmness and defensive body language suggested to the SoB(for the lack of a better term) that I may not have been as easy as he may have thought.
  13. What I think most of America has missed is that what he was talking about("When you're a star, they'll let you do anything...") was quite true about the upper echelon of society where wealth and power permeate the landscape. But it would also rightly spotlight Bill, so it won't be talked about in the mainstream.
  14. In the zoomed-in video put out by a film crew that shows the fatal confrontation between the shooter and officer, I had been thinking a Saiga was being used due to the amount of lead being discharged into the surrounding concrete. The spread looked a bit too large to be from an SKS.
  15. The abject stupidity of that man is matched only by the abject stupidity of the masses. I had to 'unfriend' someone on FB who claimed that not only is the Obama Campaign the one thing that ever "made America great", but also claimed that deaths in the U.S. due to people wielding guns totaled out to a number greater than that of the Holocaust. As Disturbed put it: "I get stupified!"
  16. http://www.popularmechanics.com/military/weapons/a20411/this-zombie-ak-47-still-works/ Excerpt: "This particular AK-47—actually, a Chinese copy known as the Type 56—was confiscated from poachers in Mozambique. Half of the original parts are missing, including the trigger and hand guard. The receiver cover is completely gone, exposing the recoil spring and bolt carrier. The gun looks like someone went over it with a ball peen hammer. Surprise: the AK still shoots! According to the person who found it, fresh gunpowder residue was found on the tip of the barrel, indicating it had been r
  17. Putting us back on the Gold Standard would help solve a lot of the wage issues by making the dollar more valuable. That being said, it's wishful thinking at this point as no one in the position to do it will.
  18. A California'd gun is what I'm thinking, but it was sold in Wisconsin, so I'm pretty stumped. Wish i could see it for myself.
  19. Not sure. I never got to see it, but from what I'm told, the place he bought it from indicated that it was a single-shot, which seems ridiculous to me. But intuition tells me something was wrong with the gas system.
  20. My Father-in-law is insisting that a .410 Saiga that his Dad bought at his local gun store was/is unable to fire in semiautomatic; was only able to reload via manual manipulation of the carrier. Long story short, the gun has been passed on to a niece of his, and the story still remains the same. Personally, I don't believe this, unless his Dad had gotten ahold of a California gun with a weird configuration. What do you guys think?
