  1. This may be alittle off topic but what do you guys think of the walther p99 are they a good quility? I have shot a few handguns but have never owned one. The walther p99 feels good in the hand but I've never used one. I think s&w also makes a clone. I'm thinking this will be my first handgun for an muli purpose handgun. I agree with the concealed. I would think the element of surprise would be much better. You wouldn't have people calling the police or being concerned that you have a gun. I know I shouldn't be concerned with what people think, but people tend to be scared of guns. T
  2. There's a gunshow this weekend and I wanted to pick up a 7.62 saiga. I know these are not being imported any longer so i'm concerned about parts. If something were to break on a saiga 7.62 could the parts be replaced with ak parts. Are there any parts that can't. If i keep this rifle for many years to come will i be able to find parts? You guys are the experts so what do you think? I wanted a 308 but i'm even more concerned about parts for that.
  3. I wansn't thinking about that.
  4. Maybe all of us should write eaa and tell them how we feel about their decision on not importing saigas anymore.
  5. I have had the same question about the 308 so could you tell us about both.
  6. edit...i figured this out on my own.
  7. How well do they work? when you fire the saiga can you really feel a differance?
  8. I use both of these and they work great for me. I tryed spybot before i got ad aware. I must say ad aware is sooo much better. spybot doesn't catch nearly as much and it doesn't even work at all sometimes. The first time i used ad aware i was really supprised about how much was on my computer. nortons will find things and won't be able to remove them so i do still have about 7 things that nortons finds and can't remove...i wish nortons would fix this.
  9. I have been looking at the walther p99s i haven't ever fired one but like you said about the sw99 they feel so good in the hand. If i'm not mistaken aren't the sw99 the same handgun? I have read that the walther p99 are good guns but I would like to be able to shoot one before i buy.
  10. I find it hard to believe that they all didn't have guns on them. It makes the whole story sound a little fishy to me.
  11. I posted this here also because I wanted to hear opinions from people who own the 7.62 also, but i see that some of you guys own both. I would like to get one of each but i don't have the cash. thanks for the help. Hmm maybe i'll sell off the mosins and get both. My son is in his early teens and he doesn't like shooting the mosins. when we go to the range it's easy to go through a few hundred rounds in the sks and then shoot some skeet with the 12 ga. We just don't find the mosins that much fun+the extra cleaning right away.
  12. Im planning on getting a saiga within the next month. I'm leaning towards getting it in 7.62x39 but would like something with a little more power. with the 7.62 the ammo is cheap and easy to get anywhere. The ak mags are cheap and can be mod. the recoil is light but i need you guys to talk me into getting a 308. and what barrel to go with i think they have 16' 20" or something like that. well i need your opinion on what one to go with the 308 or 7.62 and why.
  13. I have been looking at the saigas and I'm planning buying one. The only problem is I can't figure what I should go with. I have a sks and like the 7.62 round but have never fired a 308. I like the 7.62 because...it is cheap to shoot, very low recoil and the ammo is very easy to find almost everyone carries it. This ammo will prob. be around forever. I'm kinda leaning towards the 7.62 because of this. and because i can mod ak mags. What do you guys think i should go with. Is the 308 ammo easy to come by? what about the recoil? what if i ever need parts will they be available in lets say 15 yrs
