  1. I think it's idiotic to have the game in Jersey. Weather will be horrible regardless. Kinda funny too... when they had it in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta several years ago the owners bitched because there was a ice storm outside and it made getting to the Dome tough, even though because it was played in the Dome conditions for the game were perfect. It all comes down to cash, they would play anywhere if they turned a big enough profit regardless of the weather...
  2. I can't speak for any other State, but the DUI laws on the books in Georgia are stacked against any potential defendant. The laws are worded here so the mere suspicion of you imbibing, even if you are legally under the limit, are enough to convict you in a court of law. Driving while impaired, although supposedly a lesser charge than a DUI, carries almost the same penalties, fines, and restitution as a full blown 1st DUI. Georgia is considered a ZERO tolerance state for DUI, and unless you are a politico or someone of wealth or privilege, the man will hammer you for it here.....
  3. I was astounded when DHS was created in the first place. It REEKED to me of Gestapo - like possibilities. With each passing day they demonstrate their only reason for existence is to prey upon the American public and attempt to enforce loyalty to the regime. We all know that once Pandoras box is opened, stuff never gets put back into it. DHS will never be dismantled willingly now by the Fed now. The fuckers who created that agency need to be strung up like the traitors they are...
  4. Rhodes, the rust can cause issues if severe enough I guess. But I've also read stories of our troops finding AK's in Vietnam supposedly rusted shut where all they did was kick the charging handle with their boot to free it up and the rifle still functioned fine. I mean how many of us AK owners are so damn lazy we won't EVER clean our rifle? And if you get a little rust then run a brass bristle bush through the bore and lube as usual. Too many people have bought into this internet legend that corrosive ammo will destroy an AK. Mikhail Kalashnikov didn't design them to be safe queens...
  5. I get tired of reading about this phantom fear people have of shooting East bloc corrosive ammo. Do you really think Soviet or other Com bloc troops cleaned their weapons after every use? I've read stuff written by Marco Vorobiev who served with the Soviet Airborne and Spetsnaz forces in Afghanistan, where he said all many ever did in that sandy, gritty, hot and cold country was to push a patch soaked in motor oil through the bore on occasion, and that only very infrequently. He also stated in the article I read that when on actual missions no one had the time to worry about cleaning weapo
  6. What's the old saw, buy cheap stack deep? 5.45x39 has returned to near pre-panic prices for a 1000 rounds. AIM is selling it for $169.95 for a can of 1080 rounds, and it can probably be found a little cheaper than that. It was going for $250 a can and up during the scare, and some Chicken Little's were saying the Eastern Europeans would never import it into this country again. If you like to actually shoot your rifle go with 5.45. Don't worry about SHTF, If you have a spam can or two that will see you through until you can procure something else in a native caliber like .223 or .308....
  7. Well, it all depends folks. I recall in Atlanta a few years back a well known "civil rights icon" who was known to have a drinking problem, was found intoxicated and passed out behind the wheel of his car, motor running, car in park, drivers side door open at a traffic light - by the Atlanta Police Department. This same "civil rights icon" was found by the APD again - asleep in his parked car on a interstate exit ramp and reeking of alcohol, and guess what? Charges were dropped in both cases. That same "civil rights icon" acknowledged several drunk-driving charges, but insisted th
  8. Well, I'm interested! After pulling out my ProMag 10 rounders last night (which I thought I had fixed) I find the cold temperature has effected the polymer again to the point where the shells are dragging against the mag body once more, causing failure to cycle properly. Having some rock solid steel mags that you know will work is a big deal to me!
  9. If you have an open eared front sight block the adapter will work fine with it. If you have a hooded front sight block it is a pain in the ass to get it aligned properly, and I trashed a tritium front post trying to install it on one of my AK's because of that. I have a Meprolight AKM pattern front post on my Bulgy AK 74. Didn't have any issues aligning it ,and it sighted in perfectly. Nice feature to have in my opinion. BTW, I find the tritium in the Meprolight is brighter than that in the AmeriGlo, others may feel differently though. Krebs S12 Combat Sights actually take a AR 15 fron

  11. 3.43 is why I do not now, nor probably ever will, own a AR! LOL!
  12. Danger, danger! Non PC comment! Wolverine will be along shortly to send it to the political section!
  13. It's time these fuckers quit calling it a knockout "game" and start calling it what it is: assault with intent to do bodily harm! The media loves the term "game" because it brings to mind angelic little Trayvon's happily skipping to the convenience store, being picked on by whitey the entire time.It allows them to downplay these violent attacks. Sick of it!!!
  14. I usually get out the S12 and dump a mag at midnight, but tonight I prefer to save the real stuff....
  15. Yeah, that's what New Years eve always reminds me of. Small arms fire. Around my little town the stuff has been going on since dark, echoing through the streets, hills, and valleys. One or two displays sound like a firefight almost. Given the direction this country is heading, how long before these echoes are the real thing every night of the year? A question to ponder..... stock up people....
  16. Some of the old FAL bayonets are socket type. Wonder how easy it would be to adapt one of those to the S12?
  17. If you drag it out to court it will be a long bureaucratic mess in the ATL, costing you more in time and hassles that it is probably worth. I agree, it sounds like a definite setup to sting citizens. On the other hand if the same cop was there and you explained the situation, I doubt he would have arrested you for calmly asking him a question. He might have said tough shit, but as long as you were polite I believe you would have been ok. Yet another reason why despite a lot of things to do in Atlanta I will only go into that city once or twice a year at most....
  18. But all things considered it's not really that bad. I would still like to find a way to turn off my brain though. I do find that "white noise" helps. I turn on a fan or something so it's not dead quiet. And I guess a prescription sleep aid is always an option. In the warm months a small fan works great for that. Dunno about the winter though...

  20. The trick is to completely turn your thoughts off. By thoughts I mean the inner voice you hear that vocalizes your thoughts. I have read there is a trick to it, and it really heightens your awareness. You do this by letting your mind go blank, and then focus on a object, and only that object. You observe that object intensely, letting nothing other than it's details into your mind. Say in the woods for instance, you focus on a tree or other object, intently gazing at it. Not only will your mind gather in previously unnoticed details about that object, but your other senses are heighten
