How to press the front sight block back on???
cscharlie replied to cscharlie's topic in Tech Section
The traditional saiga12 forum method...He He He -
I got it off the rifle, now I want to press it back on the rifle without doing any damage. Do I need to use a special tool to press against the breach face? From the many builders videos I've watched, I might need a narrow piece of 1/4" stock to stick through the mag well while using a deep socket to press the front sight block onto the barrel.? Anyone give me advice on this one??? Thanks, CS

308 Saiga---Chrome Silicon vrs. Std. Music Wire Springs
cscharlie replied to john762's topic in Tech Section
I remember back when chrome silicon springs were the latest and greatest thing available for mags. Reason being that they only take set the first time they are compressed. In other words they don't weaken from being compressed and decompressed like stainless steel springs. When they reach the end of their life, they just break. But here's the reason a lot of people moved away from chrome silicon springs. It's normal for them to develop a coating of rust in a short amount of time. I don't know that their have ever been a good fix for that. A lot of folks decided it's not a good idea to use -
Rail mounted pistol lasers

What will happen any way? Is who on Prozac? If you are implying that the criminal or their family files a criminal suite and will win anyway, then you don't have your facts straight. I,ve watched these cases tried for over 30 years now. Not all states are the same. In the state where I currently live, any thing considered "tactical" like a laser or a light in over 90 percent of the time will give the plaintive's attorney enough to for the verdict to be in the plaintiff's favor. The reason I posted what I did is to hopefully stimulate the thoughts of others. Are you on Prozac smart -

When I see a thread like this, I find myself wondering how realistically of an expectation does the poster have of the events that will unfold following the use something like a laser during a self defense situation. Even if it if the victim is not charged with a criminal act due to it being perfectly leagle to have or use the laser on the firearm they shot the criminal with... What will happen in civil court later when the perp, if they live, or their family sues the victim -

Is there any law in your state that says you are required to show them your ID for looking at them? Or is it that they need probable cause due to reason of suspicion that you may have been commiting a crime? Their are a lot of states where it is leagle to open carry, but not many people do so. So you are not required to give the po po any personal info including your drivers licence. They need probable cause ... You are familiar with something called "cop block" are you not? PS Please excuse my poor spelling. https://w

Well ummmm ahhhh, I kind of asked God for this a couple of years ago. maybe longer.... looks like it's happening,? The thought was USA made,(three compliance parts) by someone who would get it right with some weight saving poly, that is not just another "range mag", with prices that won't be nutty, and if importation should stop... well you know... -
Recieved a Chaos Quad Rail for a Saiga 7.62x39mm rifle. Got it installed. Mounted quick and easy. I keep looking it over thinking,"that was too easy"?, I must be missing something.? Yet to mount a sling or fire it with the rail. I wanted to say looks to be some very nice work! Nice machine work. Weight seems to be less than simular railed hand guards. The anodizing seems to be top notch from what I can tell! Like the way the lower hand guard retainer/sling mount is made to use with the Saiga version with out pressing off the front site and gas block. I apreciate the 15% off sale price I
