  1. It's not the follower that allows the bullet to feed. The saiga mags have an extended lip on the edge of the mag that leads up to the chamber, that the bullets ride to feed properly. The standard AK mags to not have this extended lip, and require the bullet guide for proper feeding.
  2. I know the Tapco Warsaw length stock is shorter than the stock rifle stock.
  3. Basically to drill it in straight. I suppose that you can do it by hand, but make sure it is straight, or the bullet guide won't work properly, at least if you buy the one from Dinzagarms. The bullet guide is held in with the screw, and if it is even canted to a side just a little bit, it will protrude above the bullet guide plate, and the bolt will not go into battery. The bottom edge of the bolt may hang up on the head of the screw if it is not in straight. Just remember drilling it is a one shot deal. If you screw up, you will have to find another way to secure the bullet guid
  4. I'm in NJ also. I dont really know if this would be legal in NJ, but this attachement does not really thread the physical barrel itself, it's sort of like a clamp on brake, which there are no laws for in NJ. So since you would not be threading the barrel, would this still be non compliant in NJ?
  5. If you are talking about the pistol grip conversion for the Saigas, you can do it yourself. You can have someone fill in the holes with a welder, or just buy platic caps that look like the end of a rivet to cover the holes up with. I boight all the required items for my conversion from Dinzag, one of the advertisers on this forum. As for the AR mag adapter, I am not familiar with how the installation goes on there, mine is a 7.62x39 Saiga.
  6. Thank You! It's now become one of my favorite rifles. Dinzag sells a retaining plate that is anchored by he safety lever, then slips into place for the trigger and hammer pins.
  7. For those of you who are considering the conversion, but hesitant on the procedure, just go ahead and do it. My Saiga had the pistol grip nut already cut out on the receiver. It was not all that difficult, and took me about 2 hours start to finish. I bought all my conversion parts from Dinzag, and also the bullet guide and pistol grip nut. Tapco G2 trigger set, stock, SAW pistol grip, Galil Hand Gaurds. The bullet guide was straight forward, nothing to it. Take your time, measure and mock it up a few times before drilling the hole, use a drill press! When tapping the hole
  8. My converted SAIGA 7.62x39, 922r Compliant, polished bolt.
  9. I suggest you look at that website and make certain. An aluminum pin for the trigger won't last long at all. I think those aluminum screw pins you are referring to is for the retention spring that holds the FCG parts in. The spring is held in place where the old FCG was installed pre-conversion. Some parts kits will include e-clips, or some other type of clip to hold the pins in. I would suggest this plate made by Dinzag, I have used it in my conversion, and it works great, and real easy to install and remove. http://www.dinzagarms.com/misc_parts/akretp.html
  10. It's probably easier just to file down the lug on the back of the magazine. You can also get some thin files, and file it down, but that looks like a lot of work.
